21.01.2022 BRENT CLARIDGE TO COACH THE FOURTHS It is with great pride the Trafalgar Football Netball Club announce that Brent Claridge will be coaching our U16.5 fourths team for 2021. A familiar face to many of our kids with his coaching role at the cricket club, Brent also enjoyed a long football career for the bloods spanning 115 senior games (59 goals) and 200 reserve games (248 goals) including the 2003 & 2005 reserve premierships... With both his sons Mitchell and Billy playing in the fourths next year, we're excited to have Brenta coaching our boys in their inaugural season in the EDFL

19.01.2022 Rhys Holdsworth- 2021 Senior Assistant Coach We're proud to announce that Rhys "Rooster" Holdsworth will be serving the club as one of our senior assistant coaches for the 2021 season. Following a 161 senior game career for Traf netting premierships in 2010 and 2018, Rhys will be on the bench for Kyra and the boys next year. With the 2018 and 2019 thirds premierships as coach under his belt, Rhys has a great relationship with the younger guys coming through the rank...s and he is also committed to helping Brent Claridge with our fourths next year as well. 09.01.2022 Condolences to the family of our legendary 1958 LVFL premiership fullback Richard "Dick" Gill who passed away aged 88 back in September. Dick came to Trafalgar... in 1957 from Coburg having previously played for Carlton managing 8 senior games in 1953 but was on the list for many years which included the 1948-49 Under 19 and 1951 & 53 reserves flags. No doubtably his connection at Carlton with Bill Milroy led to his time at Trafalgar where he played in 86 games including the 1958 premiership from 1957-1961. He was the son of Carlton legend Frank Gill. RIP Dick. He is pictured in the very back row behind Bill Milroy in the 1958 premiership team photo below. See more

08.01.2022 Our U15s and U17s teams kicked off their season in the MDNA this morning following Mid Gippy’s cancellation of the season during the week. The U15s kicked things off with a solid shooting display to defeat Boolarra 37-10 The U17s played off against Morwell East who were too strong 13-34. Our girls kept the effort up all game- well done!... A big thank you to the Moe & District Netball Association for accepting our U15s and U17s teams on short notice- the girls loved it! 06.01.2022 The 2020 season officially finished at our AGM last week. Thank you to Paul Marslen for his contribution as President over the past two years and his time as vice president before taking on the top job. Under Paul we had 3 of 4 footy grades and 5 of 6 netball grades competing on grand final day in 2019 and through a difficult 2020 we have stayed afloat financially and secured our long term future with our move to Ellinbank. Prior to joining the committee, Marso had been invol...ved in many different match day positions at both the senior and junior clubs as his sons grew up through the ranks and we're delighted that Paul will be staying on the committee for 2021- on ya Marso!! Life member Donna Noonan has also stepped down from her role of treasurer after many years of service and will continue on general committee to help Ebony find her feet. Finally, a big thanks to Matthew Swenson who not only developed our weekly raffle that had been our highest source of income during COVID-19, but also successfully applied for many grants which has allowed us to purchase new footballs and other equipment ahead of next season. Swenno will continue to serve the club in a committee role next year as well. 02.01.2022 Dear Trafalgar Football Netball Club community, As you are aware earlier this year a 90% majority of our members voted in favour of disaffiliating from Mid Gippsland Football Netball League and affiliating with Ellinbank Football and Netball Leagues respectively and with that, the TFNC committee submitted our application accordingly. Unfortunately, we were denied disaffiliation from MGFNL and subsequently submitted our Notice of Appeal to AFL Victoria. Following yesterday's... appeal it is now with much excitement that our committee would like to notify you all of our success in the appeals process We now await the mere formality of the official vote of the EDFL/EDNA for the Trafalgar Football Netball Club to form part of the Ellinbank District Football League and Ellinbank District Netball Associations respectively. For season 2021 the TFNC will be fielding the following teams: FOOTBALL Seniors Reserves U18’s U16’s NETBALL A Grade B Grade C Grade U17’s U15’s U13’s We are so excited for the opportunity this gives our juniors and a return to having four games of football each Saturday. With 50 years of history including 10 senior premierships in 1975, 1984, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2018, many other football/netball premierships and countless memories, this was not a decision we took lightly and we wish the new MGFNL competition prospers into the future. We now look forward to creating new rivalries in our new home to the west! Further information will be provided to players and the wider club community as we get closer to pre-season. We thank you all, including the wider Gippsland community, for your support throughout this process.
