22.01.2022 Today we saw our umpires officiate in 16 STJFL Finals. It takes a mammoth effort from the coaches to ensure that they appoint the right people to the right games. To top the day off we enjoyed a thriller of a Grand Final between Glenorchy & Huonville in the U15C boys at the Twin Ovals. Congratulations to all umpires on their finals appointments today, you all did a fantastic job. Next week sees the OSFA Grand Final on Saturday, and 4 STJFL Grand Finals on Sunday. Good Luck to everyone for the remainder of the season.

21.01.2022 Congratulations Adam!

21.01.2022 With Footy Finals here we thought it would be a timely reminder to refresh everyone with the procedures for a draw or close game. Score at final siren 6 points or less; all umpires to stay on the ground until the goal umpires confirm the score is correct. All walk off ground together. Draw at final siren; all umpires to stay on the ground. Goal umpires to check their score and wave off to scoreboard/timekeeper. ... Once a draw has been confirmed, field umpires will confirm with team captains that extra time will be played. Total of 5 minutes allowed for teams to discuss. Extra time will consist of 2x5 minute halves. Goal umpires do not change ends. No time at end of first 5 minute half for teams. They swap ends straight away. Goal umpires to remain in position. At the conclusion of extra time everyone comes back to the middle of the ground and goal umpires confirm scores. If the scores are still a draw play will continue until the first team scores golden score Once that team scores they are the winner and the game will finish. Goal umpires to come to middle and wave off scores. Good luck out there this weekend everyone. Have fun, stay safe and represent the TFUA well.
