24.01.2022 There's something about the Hot Knife from @chillis_surfboards. Maybe it's the warmer weather and the fact that Winter is behind us and we're dreaming of the perfect smaller wave shorty? The Hot Knife is the combination of two popular surfboard models (Peri Peri & Stepdown 2) resulting in what can only be described as a full-figured all rounder shortboard. This particular model was tried and tested with one of Chilli's bigger built team riders, Jay Davies. This board is ...super easy to ride and feels forgiving in all conditions. OUTLINE: Classic, slightly fuller shortboard outline up front, with the main feature being a slight hip at the side fin mark. This creates a straighter rail down towards the tail for driving speed, and a slightly wider rounded square tail pod compliments the hip for fast yet predictable turns. ROCKER: Fast medium entry through to a smooth/flat exit, the focus for this model being speed with just the right amount of curve to perform smooth adjustments between turns. CONTOURS: (Derived from the much loved Peri Peri model), single concave through the nose into a double concave between the feet with blended vee exiting the tail. This combo creates great speed from the take-off, super forgiving rail-to-rail transitions, and a feeling of control as you finish your turns. PERFORMANCE: There are two standout attributes with this model. Firstly, the flatter tail rocker with exit vee promotes continual speed and forgiving rail transitions. And secondly, the hip in the outline makes it super drivey and responsive off the back foot. All together the Hot Knife will hold its speed well and respond with a feeling of predictability and control making it a pleasure to ride in general day-to-day conditions. 22.01.2022 A beautifully finished 'Fiji' from @morningoftheearthsurfboards for @onboardstorebyronbay. 6'0 x 19 1/2 x 2 1/2 & Triple Stringer Simon Jones of MOTES says;... The Fiji is at home in good powerful waves, but is still a versatile everyday board. It has low nose entry to the rocker, which enables easy and early entry to your take offs. This nose entry also helps with paddling when there is a lot of current/water moving about. It is characterised by a "beaked nose" which maximises an even distribution of foam throughout the board, creating a large sweet spot, this is a great attribute for everyday waves and is a reassuring feeling when in more critical waves. It has a very solid and smooth feeling underfoot. Bottom shape is slight concave under the front foot going into vee with x 4 deep channels in the shorter boards, and slight vee throughout on the longer boards, also with channels. Typically, an EPS construction will provide a little extra spark under foot for the surfer when in smaller, or weaker conditions due to the natural flex patterns the combination of EPS and Epoxy resin and strategic placement of Carbon Fibre re-enforcement. 04.01.2022 An exciting new addition to see in the factory once again @lsd_ooo welcome back!

04.01.2022 A Barracuda model built for @critterstoyco. The gang at Critters Toy Co say that this model is a mix of everything they love in a surfboard! The rocker is a staged low to medium, with a large flat middle section providing a fat sweet spot that is easy to find. The middle has a medium single-concave for stability and speed under the front foot. Incredible paddle power comes from volume being pushed forward in the chest. The wide tail block is offset wth a DEEP double-concave... with 4 channels that increases the rail line rocker, allowing very tight turns. The tail shape is a wide diamond with a shallow strait V swallow and bladed out edges for added grip. The outline is full in the nose and tail and can be ridden short for a skatier feel, or long for a flowier feel. There is a very slight side curve in front of the leading fins that adds quick response in steep faces and a break right behind the leading fins for release and pivot.
