24.01.2022 In 2020, QCWA had a focus on Sheep. I was approached by wool felt and textile artist. If you live in Brisbane and get a chance...pop in to view their exhibition. WILD THINGS EXHIBITION, featuring the WOOL FELT of Wendy Bailye and the TEXTILE ART AND JEWELLERY of Sharyn Hall. Be inspired by this unique exhibition and Pop-Up Shop of exclusive contemporary textiles, jewellery and art. Local Brisbane artists, Sharyn Hall and Wendy Bailye create exceptional quality, handmade and h...and-fashioned work that is guaranteed to have the WOW factor! Both well recognised in their respective fields as contemporary artists Sharyn specialises in textile surface design, mixed media and silversmithing; Wendy works as a felt maker, tutor and artist. Enjoying long-standing international careers in the arts, they are at an age when their best work is being showcased after decades of experience, learning, and teaching.

19.01.2022 On Wednesday 22nd July, our branch is holding their AGM meeting, a taste of Japan, and afterwards a Bric n Brac stall. We are delighted that Western Division President Barb McMillan is coming to chair our meeting. Please join us at 9.30am for a chat and cuppa.... The community has received donations of goods from CareBalonne and a private friend and will host a Bric n Brac Stall directly after the meeting.

17.01.2022 Wonderful day in Wallumbilla, we enjoyed a celebration of Japanese food.

16.01.2022 We held the Western Division meeting at our hall on Saturday. First time together again. It was lovely to catch up with members from Dirranbandi, Bollon and Tha...llon. We enjoyed lovely lambsalad and fruit platter from Deb's cafe in Bollon and pumpkin soup. And Thank you to all members that brought morning tea. There was plenty to eat. Liz our secretary is helping us getting used to all new technology. Take care every one. See more

13.01.2022 Mungindi Progress Association - MUNGINDI FIRE APPEAL - It has only been 24hrs since this devastating fire started in Mungindi. The offers coming in from far and wide to support these shops is appreciated. We have arranged a Go Fund Me page for any assistance you can help with. This money will be divided in 3 equal shares for the 3 shops that have lost their livelihoods. This money is not necessarily for rebuilding if the owner chooses not too, it is simply a donation towa...rds what they have lost. Please support the Mungindi Progress Association in this appeal. PLEASE NOTE: This is the only official fundraising page that is endorsed by the Mungindi Progress Association. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mungindi-fire-appeal

04.01.2022 In previous posts, You will have noticed 3 south west queensland council are seeking staff. These are all great towns to live and work in. Our towns need famil...ies, Children love the freedoms of rural towns, Our schools need to increase their student numbers to retain teachers for 2021. I usually share these posts on the local noticeboards. However I'm asking my friends to share this far and wide. WHY - well media keeps harping on about the high unemployment rate in QLD. Yet - on this employment page there are over 50 unfilled jobs/careers for the StGeorge QLD area alone. http://stgeorgeqld.com/Employment-JobSeeker Please consider SW QLD for a career change, lifestyle change You'll be glad you did! Please share...
