24.01.2022 Thamarrurr Rangers worked with scientists from the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) to take video of the fish who live in the Emu Reef Fish Protection Zone. We drop the camera frames with bait attached to the seabed and leave them for one hour to see who comes over for a look. Thanks to ENI Australia and Parks Australia for helping make this happen.... #ThamarrurrDC

We learnt about the many wonderful things the...re and talked with the extremely knowledgeable Ranger team. We even got a tour of the new boat, Yidiwurri (Marri Amu) 'Dwarf Sawfish' (MP: Ku Pangkithay). Totem of Rak Tjindi. 12.01.2022 Local fishers alerted the Thamarrurr Rangers to a ghost net caught on the reef off Kuy on the weekend so on Tuesday we located the net and dragged it back into Port Keats to stop it continuing to endanger our marine life.

You may have seen us sharing information about thi...s disease and about tick prevention recently; here at AMRRIC we are very concerned about this potentially fatal and very quick spreading disease. As our Program Manager- Strategic Delivery Dr. Bonny Cumming is quoted as saying in this excellent article, dog deaths could be in the thousands by the end of the wet season as Ehrlichiosis continues to explode.
