25.01.2022 Only a little bit done today. Gearbox and rear main plate removed Coil packs, spark leads, spark plugs and rocker covers removed, Exhaust manifolds removed. Water pump removed.... Just need to remove the harmonic balancer and timing case. Remove the sump. Clean the sump, timing case and rocker covers. Remove and replace the oil pump (common issue with these engines, I’m already pulling everything else apart so replacing it whilst I’m in the area) Refit all the covers incl new water pump , pressure wash the engine (of course covering all openings first) Put the new (well second hand, but new for this car) extractors on. Then that’s the engine done and it’s on to the gearbox. Busy couple of days ahead.

24.01.2022 This Kluger presented with a different kind of issue that I’ve never seen happen with these vehicles before. One of the solenoids in the gearbox had malfunctioned which basically meant every gear except park was stuck in 3rd gear. Yep, reverse was 3rd, neutral was 3rd and drive was 3rd as well. Unfortunately this happened just over 12 months after the car was out of warranty. After crunching some numbers, it turned out it was more cost effective to get a second hand gearbox o...ff a reputable second hand parts company and fitting it up. Check out the comments for the before and after videos!

23.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all of the Fathers out there, I hope all you Dads out there get spoilt rotten! From my family to yours. That Mechanic Guy

23.01.2022 Hey everyone! It has come to my attention that my invoices have not been coming through as of late. I think I've narrowed down where the problem has started and am working on getting invoices out ASAP. Please bare with me as I get to the bottom of this, and if you haven't received an invoice, please let me know as I may be wrong as to where the issue started. Thanks for your understanding!

17.01.2022 The old ute getting a workout today

15.01.2022 Old school trucks like these are one of many reasons I love doing what I do. This rear airbagged F100 was built looooong before I was even born, but that’s what gives it so much charisma. Just listen to that 351 Clevo growl! I had the pleasure of changing the starter motor on this beast as well as a full front to back fluid and filter service.... Have you got something old school in your shed? Post a pic in the comments! Show me what you’ve got

12.01.2022 This LS1 Vx Calais in today to get a new automatic gearbox fitted. Gearbox was taken out elsewhere so it was kinda like putting together a jigsaw where someone’s left some pieces in their pocket. But nonetheless! Got it in and driving. Another happy customer.

12.01.2022 Big one in the works here at the moment. Vy ss in for an engine freshen up as well as a few other things. Watch this space I’ll post updates as they progress.

12.01.2022 Uhhh, I don’t think that’s supposed to be in there Pulled the harmonic balancer and fitted a timing cover with an oil return fitting on it for that monster turbo on this VZ SS today.

09.01.2022 Bit of a cheeky sticker Saturday

09.01.2022 Just wanted to take the time out to say thank you to everyone that’s liked, followed, commented and shared. Today I finally cracked 300 followers - which to some might not seem like much. But to me it’s everything. So thank you thank you thank you! To each and every one of you!... Might have to do a cheeky merch giveaway to celebrate? Thanks a million again! Hayden That Mechanic Guy
