As locals in the community ...begin to recognise our teams and expect their arrival, many are willing to join in handing out portions to hungry dogs. In this video, BAWA and Program Dharma team up with the community of street feeders operating in the Sanur area to feed the growing stray dog population. We still see little improvement to the COVID-19 situation here in Bali, which means there is no end in sight to the suffering of the starving and neglected animals this pandemic has left in its wake. Beaches remain closed, tourist areas remain desolate, and the animals remain in wait of assistance each day as BAWAs street feeding teams roll up, bringing bucketfuls of relief. 03.01.2022 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Dear foreigners who are unintentionally (or intentionally) stranded here in Bali. Please stop acting like there is no covid-19 here, or ...that you are invulnerable and dont have to wear masks and can go ecstatic dancing or whatever. Stick with that ignorant attitude and were going to end up in a much worse situation. If we discipline ourselves now we.might get a handle on it before it gets tragic. As of yesterday there is an official cumulative total of 1263 cases, with 522 of them active. There have been 9 deaths in the official tally. However even the officials admit that their findings are really just a fraction due to under testing. You could easily multiply the cases by 10, So please, if you are actually here in Bali or Indonesia be a little considerate. We have been considerate and flexible with the immigration status of many foreigners who didnt leave when they could, extending your stay permits. Now its your turn to be considerate to us. We are losing patience: we would never get away with the behaviour that many foreigners have displayed here in your countries. The tolerance is starting to wear thin. EDIT: As TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN seems not to be clear enough in this post for some people, it means this post is addressed specifically to those foreigners who are disrespectful of Indonesian regulations, who flout the law, who behave irresponsibly. There are many amongst you who are respectful and concerned and I thank you - this post is clearly not aimed at you. This is really about a serious impending health crisis.
