24.01.2022 Chicken Laksa "Bun Laksa" Laksa is a wonderful spicy Asian soup that seems to work as well in summer as it does in winter. On a cold night, its always nice to warm up with a bowl of soup! This delicious healthy Laksa with Chicken is so yummy and filled with tasty veggies. If youve never had laksa, its a smashing dish often involving a spicy broth, rice noodles, coconut, lots of lemongrass, and some fish or meat. Laksa is just so complex and its a standard Malaysian dish,... because it combines elements of indiginous Malay - so, Chinese and Indian. Of the standard ingredients youve got chillies, galangal and laksa leaves and they are so Malay. For the kari laksa - which is the traditional way of pronouncing curry laksa - you add in curry spices, and then you add in noodles, which is Chinese. And a good laksa should have the perfect balance of all the flavours with really deep umami. And its just so satisfying. 21.01.2022 Shaken Beef "Com Bo Luc Lac" Bo Luc Lac is a flavorful Vietnamese dish consisting of cubed beef, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice and sliced onions.Not completely lost in translation, the luc lac is merely a description for the shaking or tossing of the beef back and forth in the wok after its quickly seared. Its a widely popular Vietnamese dish and as such, has many variations on how its served. Some restaurants serve it with sauteed onions, lettuce, and rice (white or ...tomato paste rice) while others may present it more like a steak salad served on a bed of watercress and tomatoes, topped with pickled onions. Dipping sauces might vary from a lime/salt/pepper sauce to a soy chili sauce Regardless of how you serve bo luc lac, its an easy and fantastic dish to make for a dinner for two or a party of ten. You can use any cut of steak you like such as filet or ribeye, but we prefer sirloin. Lemongrass is used in a lot of Vietnamese cuisine, but Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken (Gà Xào S? ?t) is one of the most popu...lar dishes that calls for it. In Vietnamese Food, lemongrass is used in two different ways. It is used as an aromatic, cut into large pieces and smashed for simmering in soups, curries, and stews, like bay leaves. It is also chopped so finely that it looks like granulated sugar and then added to dishes where it contributes an incredible fragrance and a pleasant texture that cannot be achieved by throwing the stalks into a food processor. Chopping lemongrass by hand to the proper consistency takes time, but if youre patient, youll end up with a beautiful finished product. Super healthy with all the greens too! Check out the recipe below, it's not too hard to make!... Crepe batter 1 cup rice flour 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric 1 cup coconut milk 1/2 cup water Filling 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided, or as needed 2 tablespoons minced shallot 2 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste 350g fresh prawns, peeled and deveined 2 tablespoons fish sauce, or more to taste salt to taste 450g bean sprouts 4 lettuce leaves, or as needed Directions Preparation:20min Cook:5min Ready in:25min Mix rice flour, sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and turmeric together in a large bowl. Beat in coconut milk to make a thick batter. Slowly beat in water until batter is the consistency of a thin crepe batter. Heat 1 1/2 tablespoon oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add shallot and garlic; cook and stir until fragrant but not browning, 1 to 2 minutes. Add prawns; saute until cooked through and opaque, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with fish sauce and salt. Transfer filling to a bowl. Preheat oven to 110 degrees C. Wipe the pan and reheat over medium heat. Add remaining 1 1/2 teaspoon oil. Stir crepe batter and pour 1/2 cup into the hot pan, swirling to coat the bottom. Lay 3 or 4 of the cooked prawns on the bottom half of the crepe. Top with a small handful of bean sprouts. Cook until batter looks set and edges start to brown, about 1 minute. Fold crepe over and slide onto an oven-safe plate. Place crepe in the preheated oven to keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter and filling. Serve lettuce leaves alongside filled crepes.
