22.01.2022 Hey gorgeous folks, it's so exciting to be out and about again, and it's kind of like we hit the pause button earlier in the year, and all of a sudden Christmas is around the corner and we are catching up and celebrating life with friends. We are booked out for Dinner Friday & Saturday nights this weekend, but we have tables available tonight (Thursday) and over the weekend for lunch or breakfast. If you've got a date in mind to catch up with friends, we'd suggest booking a ...week or two before. At this stage, we are only able to take groups up to 10 people, but hopefully, that will change over the coming weeks. Stay well, stay safe & we look forward to seeing you soon. nb did I mention we have a booking app, and we're loving it, you can even click on the link here on FB xx

21.01.2022 Getting to know the team - Maestro- Mix-a-Lot (Dan) When you can go to Melbourne what Bar/Restaurant will you be booking? An old favorite - Movida, and this is how I love to dine, little bits of everything, and Madame Brussels for a jug (or two) of delicious cocktails.... When you can cross borders or take a flight, where will you be heading? Imaginary holiday - Greece!!!! But realistically Byron Bay for a nice ocean break or maybe call it ‘research’ for cocktail inspiration. How did you end up here in Alexandra? After selling my restaurant in Mornington Peninsula I needed a change for a few months, so arrived in sunny Alexandra and that was 10 years ago. What’s the back story? How did you end up in Industry & where has it taken you? After living abroad for two years, returned to live in the big smoke of Melbourne, I worked in the clothing industry for 3 years and then fell into hospitality by means of waiting at a restaurant I loved across the road in Hawksburn. After 8 years there, moved home to Red Hill where I managed Red Hill Estate Restaurant ‘Maxs’ for 8 years before partnering with Max in ‘Solair’ restaurant at Arthurs Seat for 4 years. What’s your fav pantry or fridge ingredient & why? Sour cream and an array of condiments, depending on the mood, and eggs (is it possible to live without them? How do people not like eggs, I don’t understand.). Oh, and Tonic

20.01.2022 Are you a tourism or hospitality graduate, or worked in Restaurants or private clubs and consider yourself a hospitality professional? Looking for 30 hours to Full time work? Our award-winning Alexandra Hotel are looking to add to our current fantastic team another front of house person.... This would be a four day work week, starting Thursday afternoon, finishing Sunday afternoon. Salary negotiable. A second position is available for someone looking for a few nights work over summer holiday season- we are looking for someone to work the fryers for a PopUp idea we have, it would be Monday-Wednesday during January. Send us a message or email [email protected]

16.01.2022 Can you ‘taste the freedom’? Maestro-Mix-A lot has made a cocktail with a nod to the weekend escape vibe going on! So lovely to see so many wonderful faces of friends Local & Melbourne based. Just sorry we couldn’t fit more of you in. Fully booked Saturday night, getting that way for Sunday also. Xx

12.01.2022 Melbourne one more week until we can travel freely within the state again!! We are so looking forward to welcoming you back, and we'd like to buy you a drink to say 'Thanks Melbourne' for doing the 'hard-yards' during lockdown over recent months. You are awesome. Getaway over a weekend, or a sneeky mid-weeky (we have free wi-fi, you can even work from here for a change of scene). Book via our website or on the booking link below and stay during November (only available if you... book directly online, not via a 3rd party booking agent). Quote 'Hard-yards' in the comments of your accommodation booking and we'll have drinks waiting for you. Our Restaurant is open Thursday - Saturday for dinner, or on other evenings we can book you into other local eateries. See you soon, Cheers xx https://apac.littlehotelier.com/proper/alexandrahoteldirect

10.01.2022 Oh Melbourne, how we love you And how wonderful to visit you again. We ate our way around town, getting all food love & inspired. Thank you Melbourne for your wonderful hospitality - from our gorgeous little apartment, to coffee at Ormond Collective, dinners at Foglia di Fico and Bar Carolina, lunch at Entrecôte (felt like we’d had a France & Italy experience), all an absolute treat. And catching up with some dearest of friends, isn’t life grand.

09.01.2022 We are so excited to Welcome Back Melbourne with today’s announcements. And we are SO EXCITED to head to Melbourne also. We asked a few of the crew where they will be heading now that they can travel again. Chef Ben will head to the city for some dumplings @juicybaomelbourne... Tania will be heading to the Yarra Valley this week to catch up with family & friends she just can't wait!!! Chef Pat is keen for great Italian with Luca & Francesco Trattoria Emilia @emiliamelbourne and with Jerry Kim at @foglia_di_fico Dan is all about cocktails @madamebrussels69 and tapas @movidamelb Kat is keen to go and catch up with family that she and the kids have been missing, but a little bonus is that Aunty Alex lives in Kensington with lots of great Café’s to visit Jackie is overwhelmed by choice, but it might start with lunch @meletos in the Yarra Valley tomorrow, then @ormondcollective (thanks for the referral Helen) for a spot of Melb Lunch and bars @romeolane and Eau-de-vie @edvmelbourne So much to enjoy, sending big hugs to everyone xx

05.01.2022 What a year it has been! It’s the week before Metro & Regional Vic opens up again, and we just wanted to pause for a moment and say THANK YOU to all the local & regional support from customers/friends/community that we’ve had over the three and a bit years, but especially since March. We wouldn’t still be here without you.... We’ll all get use too the latest ‘new normal’ and restrictions and regulations will contract & expand as required, we will keep doing our best to keep adapting as we all go through. (It is enjoyable to be putting food on plates again) Sending big hugs & really THANK YOU

04.01.2022 Wahoo!!!! Well done Melbourne & Victoria. So pleased that Melbourne Restaurants & Hotels can reopen again this week, and that travel restrictions will ease and we can welcome back our Melbourne community from November 9th. Well done everyone, so proud of you xx

04.01.2022 So it turns out, Mark Cordina, an awesome fella that’s been a wonderful friend & customer to Alexandra Hotel has mad-skills in metal work. This is part of a new piece he’s making for the kitchen. Chef Pat & Chef Ben have been doing a bit of char-grilling in the current menu & Mark is building them a very sexy, custom, bespoke new grill. Will post another update next week
