25.01.2022 Resident glass artist Peter Cummings rotary tool workshop is now sold out for this Tuesday. Here is a teaser of Peters current work procces. Peter is a master of his craft and a sharing artist with his wealth of technical knowledge. His work is currently on display and for sale at the art colt every Tuesday and lots of other days if we are here.

25.01.2022 Happy Monday folks. Open carving tomorrow morning ( tues) 9.30- lunch. Bring your own bits. I have some green silky oak if anyone wants to carve a Greenwood spoon. Ladle etc Check out our Hebal carving workshop in July.

23.01.2022 Isolation project take two... Kitchen reno with vintage coffee machine and enamel cast iron kitchen sink installed. Ready for you carvers, sculptors and makers once we re open. Ash hardwood bench top came up a treat with 4 costs of varnish. Thanks to David at #bondstreeteventcentre for parting with his wonderful machine.

23.01.2022 Good news Colters... we are again from TUES June 2nd with our first carving meeting since Feb. It's spoon carving as the first Tuesday of the month. Look out for 2 new workshops and a New World Exhibition coming in September with 2 exciting new artists involved.

21.01.2022 We are back in action. In isolation we have been building and making thanks to Wellington Shire Council for funding story to line and insulate the library and and upgrade our lighting and power. Got a lot done with very generous help. Thanks to Craig @Bruthen Electrical and Gary Maylon who is busy making the library desks from the rotten and broken remains of the old courthouse desks. 20.01.2022 Next Tuesday the 13th we will be carving outside of anyone wants to put a mask on and join us (please message us so we know numbers) In the meantime we have been: Maintaining and planting around our sculptures. Installing old motors on old push-bikes Carving Stone, timber and glass... And most importantly installing a retro coffee machine! 09.01.2022 Just a reminder to keep carving, sculpting, engraving, weaving, painting and to be creative. We can't wait to see you all back at the COLT when allowed to, until then Gavin is working on a few solo projects and Peter is hibernating (I mean isolating). Here is a WIP of a little job for Nagle College replacing a lost station of the cross. Original ones are cast metal with mountain ash cross. The replacement is carved from 150y/o English oak and will be finished in bronze patina to match. Nice little rainy day project.

07.01.2022 What a start back, Rotary tool workshop with the great Peter Cummings then a separate hand carving circle formed followed by a one on one 2 hr birdhouse workshop to finish things off. Even got to make coffee and clean up (well Peter and Jan actually did the cleaning)

Hold your breath folks, we will be back in action as soon as we are allowed or when the aliens take advantage of our weakness and storm the castle! The "New world" exhibition is delayed while the apocalypse is being brought forward... Bored? There are still a few isolation spoon carving kits available through Gavin's website which are great to carve your own future apocolyptic eating equipment while you still hav...e time!
