25.01.2022 Kaley Cuoco has retired BIONETTY (described as the first real horse she ever sat on). In an emotional Instagram post recounting their time together, Kaley paid tribute to her Queen B. With over 6 million insta followers, announcing the mares retirement via the social media site certainly meant she went out with a Big Bang. #sorrynotsorry #penny #bigbangtheory
20.01.2022 Really sad news out of the USA over the weekend, with Scott Keach’s BORN TO BE PICOBELLO Z (aka Oliver) succumbing to a perforated intestine. The 12yo gelding was by Berlin out of a Carthago Z mare. (Of course Berlin competed as EUROCOMMERCE BERLIN and with Gerco Schroeder was part of the Netherlands team gold at the 2007 European Championships and also placed 6th individually at WEG2006 Aachen.) Speaking with a clearly upset Scotty on Sunday morning, he explained how the hor...se became known as Oliver. He was Oliver, as in Oliver Twist - because he was a bit of misfit really. Scott continued, We really believed he was ready to step up this year and take over from Fedor (Scott’s 2016 Rio Olympics and 2018 Tryon WEG mount) as my first string horse. I really believed he was THE horse. Oliver was owned by David and Anne Quanbeck. The Quanbecks from Virginia USA have an association with the laconic Aussie that began over 10 years when Scott was training their daughter. They are also the owners of Fedor. Unfortunately, many of our TBR followers know what it feels like to lose a special horse, so on behalf of the TBR family we send our sympathies to Scott, the Quanbecks and the team at @southerncrosseques (pic is Oliver as a youngster in Europe) See more

04.01.2022 Her Dad may have the world’s most recognisable mullet, but for Brandi Cyrus, it was her father’s riding advice and not his hairstyling that really shaped her future.

03.01.2022 With confirmation of Matt Williams entries for the CSI3* show in Puebla, Mexico we can now add him to our global map as well. There’s sure to be plenty of interest from here in with Matt riding 3 Aussie produced horses; Coachella from @Jess Brown Equus Australia, Yandoo Pennsylvania from Suzie Skye and Sam Williams, and FR Graffiti (known here as Rosthwaite Riviera) produced by James Arkins and Tom McDermott. The show website is link is below with live-streaming available from Clipmyhorse. http://siacfem.com/sitio_concu//concursos/85/time-schedule
03.01.2022 Followers of TBR will be familiar with the recent spate of equestrians appearing in TV commercials; Coco Miles (Telstra), Edwina Tops-Alexander & Jess Stones (Racing Vic), James Hetherington (Horse Racing League) and Michelle Robson (Kia Stinger). Well it seems that getting a gig in a commercial is just scratching surface of the opportunities that can arise. The British teenager who plays a young Diana in the new Wonder Woman movie has said it was her history in showjumping that allowed her to do most of her own stunts in the blockbuster.
02.01.2022 Interesting article about who should have priority access to the covid-19 vaccine. There seems to be general consensus that frontline health care workers, and those most at risk, (eg the elderly) should, but then who? Where do elite / professional sportspeople fit in? Should Olympians be given access to the jab if that’s going to make the Games more likely to go ahead? As this article points out, Cricket Australia is one sports organisation that’s already indicated that players going on the Sth African tour should potentially be vaccinated. Interested to hear the views of our TBR family.
