18.01.2022 This week three young bagpipers from TSS joined the Gold Coast Tweed Pipes and Drums at their Currumbin band practice. The band were very impressed with the level of playing that all the boys were doing and welcomed them to the band. The Bagpiper has been tutoring Zach Battocchio (Year 5), Will McDonald (Year 7) and Grant Callaghan (Year 9) for the past few years and looks forward to encouraging the boys to play with the Gold Coast band as well as various school events. Congratulations to you all for achieving the transition from the learner chanter to the pipes on what is a particularly difficult instrument.

18.01.2022 The Bagpiper. A talented, versatile performer that at turns commands both stirring and uplifting tunes that captivate and transport. "You feel 7 generations of pipers flow through the chanter when you play." Neil Munro, "Lost Pibroch".

04.01.2022 Liam Hugo also joined three other young pipers at band practice on Monday night with the Gold Coast Tweed Pipes and Drums at Currumbin. Liam led the band for Amazing Grace and did a superb job. Liam has moved from the learner chanter to the bag pipes which is tricky for a young boy. Keep up the good work Liam and thank you to Callum Pert and the St Andrews Society of Scotland Gold Coast for helping to get him started.
