03.01.2022 Looks like some good news is coming. BANSW @bandsnsw #bandsnsw

01.01.2022 Following the significant changes announced today, we have some clarification in regards to the application of these changes. We have confirmed that the changes today apply across the board to both Community and School settings as follows: The advice for this activity is applicable across all forms and contexts. Group Singing... Group singing and chanting remains a high-risk activity for transmission should someone involved be infected. In order to mitigate this risk, a small group of up to 5 people may sing together in one area if: all singers face forwards and not towards each other they have physical distancing of 1.5 metres between each other and any other performers they have 5 metres distancing from all other people in front including the audience and conductor. Group singing of up to 5 people should only take place in a large, well-ventilated (preferably outdoor) setting. Playing Musical Instruments Musical instrument ensembles may continue. Players of non-reeded woodwind instruments (such as flutes and recorders) should maintain a physical distance of 3 metres from others in the direction of air flow from their instruments, and 1.5m in all other directions. Players of all other musical instruments (including reeded woodwind instruments) should maintain a physical distance of 1.5m between each other and the audience / conductor. Ensembles and other musical groups should rehearse and perform outdoors or in large, well-ventilated indoor spaces. This change has come about following the continued low rates of community transfer in NSW and the advocacy work of Rivmeo, of which the BANSW is an Auspicing member. Great news and clarifications of the easing of the current restrictions which will make it easier for more bands to return to rehearsals. As you do return, please remember that you still need a Covidsafe plan in place and we recommend that you send these through to the Association Secretary for review by the Associations Guidance Team. A Good news day. Thanks, BANSW @bandsnsw #bandsnsw
