25.01.2022 With the weather forecast over the next few days looking fantastic ....... where else would you rather be? The picturesque Cataract Gorge is looking great this time of year and the free swimming pool is crystal clear. Come for a walk, a swim, ride the chairlift or dine in the Basin Cafe, Gorge Restaurant or the Gorge Kiosk.There are plenty of options for locals and travellers alike.

24.01.2022 So, the fires are impacting communities, lives and animals. It’s heartbreaking for all of us. From afar, I have again rallied some amazing supporters to stage ...another Northern Tasmanian event to raise funds for those communities ravaged by fire. I am aware that many communities are of course on very real alert, so my intention is to just turn my sadness into action. Not to distract from the amazing work going on at the scenes and not to distract from the incredible appeals and events that are already happening or being planned. This is another way that some in our community can support our mates. It’s via Rotary, which means 100 per cent of the funds raised will be used in those communities impacted. It’s using my contacts and skills to do what I can. I encourage you to do the same big or small. Who can assist? 10.01.2022 The Pool is Open ... It’s that time of the year again and the Cataract Gorge swimming pool is open . With a forecast of 29 degrees today it’s a perfect place to cool down ......and it’s free entry !

04.01.2022 To all of our loyal and extremely valued customers, we have made the decision today to close the Basin Cafe operations in their entirety for the time being. It’s certainly not an easy decision to say the least, however, we look forward to reopening when things are on the improve. Kind regards, The management team.

03.01.2022 Hello all. We’re currently in the planning stages to slowly re-open the Basin Cafe as dining restrictions further ease. In the meantime, our sister business the Gorge Restaurant kiosk, is open on Saturday and Sundays from 10am offering a fantastic range of delicious food and hot and cold beverages. We look forward to seeing all of our valued customers once we’re back in business.
