05.01.2022 ATTN (protein smoothie recipe below!) . Our Fuel Bar girls have compiled a list of their favourite smoothies, and until we can re-open they are all yours! Keep your eyes peeled as we release a new smoothie recipe each week . Our first recipe... 'THE MANGO CHAI CHA CHA' ... Ingredients: // 1 & 1/2 cups of almond milk (we suggest unsweetened almond breeze) // 1 scoop of vanilla protein (we suggest Sci-tech vanilla protein. It is delicious and ensures you achieve a very creamy consistency. We are happy to order this in for you, just let us know!) // 1/2 frozen banana // 1 cup of frozen mango // 1 tablespoon of chia seeds . Method: 1. Place all ingredients in a blender (start with the almond milk!) 2. BLEND - Blend twice for a smooth and creamy consistency! . Tip: add a large handful of ice if your fruit is not frozen. See more
04.01.2022 How is everyone going with their at-home routine? Our BCHP Online dietitian shares with us weekly tips and tricks about diet/nutrition at home. This week she discussed a few tips about how to reduce MINDLESS SNACKING when working from home . We know this is a common problem people face so we thought we would share her answer here! Her tips to prevent mindless snacking include: . 1. Learn what physical hunger feels like: an actual feeling in your stomach and low energy le...vels. Often we can turn to food when we want a distraction or are stressed 2. Plan dedicated meal and snack times: This will create more routine and reduce the likelihood of continuously wandering into the kitchen (and checking the fridge that you only checked 10 minutes ago) 3. Sit down and remove distractions during meal times: By engaging our senses and consciously chewing our food we listen to our hunger and fullness cues and prevent under or over-consuming 4. Plan and prepare: Try to have healthy snacks available and try to make a plan in the morning of what your snacks will be to prevent your hungry, bored or stressed mind from making the decisions .
