19.01.2022 The end is nearing

13.01.2022 Spent the day fossicking about Coober Pedy (who I think believe they are SA’s version of Hollywood....note the sign) for Opals and checking out the spaceship wreck and the Old Miners museum

07.01.2022 Safe to say we’re almost home with driving into this rain and possible hail....miserable to say the least Back to the NT please

06.01.2022 So....The Rock aka Uluru.....a lot more impressive than Dwayne Johnson. What a sight! It’s sheer size and magnitude is overwhelming when up close. The rock was closed for climbing in the morning and unfortunately for Nathan who wanted to walk it, I had already arranged bikes by the time it had re opened. He did manage to squeeze in a quick walk up with the kids past Chicken rock so he kind of got his fix. We cycled around the base of the rock - I think it was the first time I...’ve ridden a bike in 25 years and it didn’t take me long to get back into it after a wobbly start and smash out the 14km - It was an awesome way to see it however the best way was by far having wine and cheese watching the changing colours of sunset with the WA skies of blue and pink setting against the rock with the full moon rising over it whilst across the road, the burning orange NT skies - truely magical Mila eventually got her camel ride on Trevor who actually wasn’t as stinky as the ones in Broome. Day 2 we hit the Olga’s aka Kata Tjuta and did the Valley of the Winds walk - another stunning piece of scenery - a rugged walk and a fantastic way to end the experience in Yulara Central Australia - Nathan actually rates this as possibly the best view of the whole trip. From Bullara to Yulara we farewell our buddies The Stevens’ from #12weeksoffreedom Lots of laughs, hangovers and good times when we met up over the last 3 mths and we’ll see you in Adelaide next year Note - If you ever want to see a zoo in Central Australia go to the overflow area in Ayers Rock Campground....so busy it ridiculous. #ESPNGoProHERO next stop NT/SA border
