No one knows why, but Lou was again thrown into the thick of it, he was driving right passed the recent tragedy on the fwy as it occurred right in front of him as he was driving home. Lou did what he does best, and that is help out and care, Lou is one person that would have tried his heart out on Wednesday. Thats what makes him so special. Lou you did an amazing job. Many of us are providing Lou with a great deal of care during this time. Well done mate. We couldnt be prouder of you. TBGC. https://www.theage.com.au//why-me-bourke-st-hero-cabbie-on

16.01.2022 The story below was written by a new member of the VP 4wd club. After the devastating bushfires ripped through drought stricken East Gippsland between Christmas Day and into the new year of 2020, many of the affected communities were left isolated, without communication, power and water supplies. Roads were blocked with fallen trees. Bitumen roads burnt as a result of intense heat from the scorching fires making travel extremely dangerous if not impossible. This situation ha...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone. As we move in to stage 4 restrictions, we just want to let you know that we are very busy planning trips and activities for when restrictions are lifted. 6 weeks is not a long time, and before we know it we will be back out there enjoying the Great Outdoors, this will give many on us a greater appreciation of the simpler things in life.... While we are all in this together, some people will really struggle both financially and mentally, so if you know anyone in that is in that position, take a little bit of extra compassion and care and really help them out if you can. Remember to take some time for yourself to really relax and spoil yourself a little. A healthy mind is a healthy heart. This is just a place we are visiting, it will be something we look back on and appreciate how understanding and resultant we really are. Check in on your mates and if anyone wants or needs anything, even a chat, please let us know here, someone is always here to help. TBGC
14.01.2022 Hello Everyone. Its been a big last week for many people. As Victoria Police lost 4 of its protectors, the community turned Victoria blue, to let them know how much they care.... People stood to on Anzac Day in there driveway with candles in hand. And Im sure lost here would all agree that during this tough tome people have dug deep to find and show that great side of humanity. Most of us would never have expected to deal with so much pain and grief in such a short time. The isolation and the lack of physical contact can be just awful. Its never more important now, to love the ones you love even more, to tell them, to hold them so close, to pick up the phone and tell them how important they are in your life. Its not whimpy to tell your mates you love them, this is the time that they need to hear it. Its right now, dont put it off, cause as many of us know all to well tomorrow is never guaranteed. If you want to change someones day, tell them how important they are in you life today. Just out of the blue, tell them. Itll make your day to.
13.01.2022 Hello Team. We did a lolly run recently for a lot of club members and it was a warm up to the big one in December. Over the 2nd week of December we will be down in Gippsland and Eastern Victoria where the recent fires devastated so many places and affected so many people doing the same thing. We want to make sure these people don’t feel forgotten about, so we will be delivering lolly bags to all the people that we recently delivered food to during the food for the fires dri...ve. We estimate getting to around 160 places and packing around 330 lolly bags. So we will be collecting lolly donations at the Christmas party on the 5th of December which will be at the Whittlesea Showgrounds from 9.30am till 12.00pm for members (due to COVID this is limited to only members) However if you feel like a drive to a lovely county town for morning tea and find yourself going passed please put any lollies in the box provided near the gate on Mcphees rd Whittlesea at gate 2 of the Showgrounds (follow the signs) Thank you TBGC.
13.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that helped out, you know who you are. Not bad for little club, 62 pallets of food, truck loads of hay and countless load of hugs, cookies, and coffee delivered to those that needed it most.
13.01.2022 Good Afternoon Team. An amazing job done by so many amazing people recently, we are all about reward and recognition and now its time for the people that have given up so much time and effort to help others to be a little spoiled.... We will be hosting a High Country Trip on the 1st of May till the 3rd of May to spoil those people now, will get into some very iconic places, and some places that you would never normally get into, as a number of people we have been helping have properties up there. There will be a lot of special surprises along the way, as well as a quiz on Saturday night around the fire with some ripper dipper prizes, and we will have a few special guest coming along as well, and sharing some great adventures. If you don't have a 4wd we will easily find you a seat. RSVP as soon as you can. Dinner Friday night will be cooked for you. I hope those who have and are still helping can all join in. Regards TBGC
12.01.2022 Good Morning Team On Friday a convoy of about 60 4wds and trucks loaded with hay will head down to Gippsland and deliver the aid in the photos below to people in the remote areas that are struggling with so many parts of life. Drought affected, now fire affected, many of these people are struggling in such a way we could not imagine. We will be delivering the aid over 3 days, so if you are down there and need anything please let us know here and we will make sure it gets to... you. We will be taking time to spend with people down there having a coffee, cake and Im sure giving out a lot of cuddles again. TBGC
12.01.2022 Good Morning Team Camping is back from the 1st June. So we will be hitting the tracks shortly. No more than 20 in a group... No shared facilities. We also have adopted other safety measures which are group specific. TBGC
12.01.2022 Good Morning Team A fantastic day yesterday in 4wdriving in Toolangi, some of us were certainly struggling when they couldn't park properly in the car park, was this a sign of things to come. A few easy recoveries not long into the wet track, one thing was clear that it was very wet for February in Toolangi.... We kept on heading in for morning tea and birthday cake, then it was straight the iconic track 'Areoplane', not for the faint-hearted. From there it was on to Track of the day with a lot fun in the mud and a few more recoveries, Looping back to the other side of Areoplane we found cars scattered everywhere looking like sprinkles on the birthday cake. So back out and one more track before dinner, its 4 o'clock and yep, it was messy. A few good recoveries and the longest reveres in history to get out of the ruts. After that it was on the black top and home, not before seeing a roll over, which can only be put done to stupid behavior and speed, so please take care and drive safely when out in the bush, remember other people are using it. Stay safe and check in on your mates. TBGC
10.01.2022 Thank you to all the crews that helped out today and tonight at the search for Will, weve been going in to the morning now. Time for a quick rest and back to it.
10.01.2022 Good Morning Team. Most of the major roads in the Gippsland areas are now open. Get down and support the locals, we had some amazing pub meals along the way and some great coffees. Head down that way to see the devastation and see what these people have been through, makes you truly appreciate life and how delicate it can be.... We have a 'Farmer Wants A Morning Tea' event in March and will be purchasing everything for the local suppliers. Take Care TBGC
10.01.2022 What a fantastic idea. Watch this space.
09.01.2022 Today is Vietnam Veterans Day, take some time today to reflect on those who served and those who cared for those who served, many forgotten heros can be remembered today. We remember the service and sacrifice of all those who fought in the Vietnam War. More than 60,000 Australian servicemen and women deployed to Vietnam between 1962 and 1975, with 521 killed in service. Many of those who survived endured great hardship during the war, and returned home with both physical and emotional scars. Lest We Forget, both those who served and the families left behind.

02.01.2022 Good Morning Team On the 1st and 2nd of February the Victoria Police 4 Wheel Drive Club, 4 Wheel Drive Victoria and many associated clubs on behalf of the Gippsland Farmers Relief Fund, delivered aid to 150 farms for drought and fire relief. Teams loaded up early and headed up to Omeo, Orbost and Wulgulmerang, around 60 4wds and 2 trucks of Hay delivered around 30 pallets of food and aid into people that desperately need it. ... The home made treats that were enjoyed by the teams and the farmers were personally hand delivered by the crews to the people, some of whom have been going without food to feed their animals. Being home made, they were well received by the farm families and volunteers a huge thank you to Shelly, Kiha and the team. 02.01.2022 Regional Victoria is open, so get out and do some exploring, support the local communities and as well, get all the benefits of being outdoors in the country side. Some of us have wasted no time getting amongst it, and lucky enough waking up to wild brumbies grazing right near the river in the High Country. TBGC.
01.01.2022 Denis and Mary are such lovely people and its been fantastic having the opportunity to help them in there recovery. We are looking forward to seeing them again in March for morning tea and I am sure a few big hugs.
