25.01.2022 Today we had the absolute pleasure of taking our Boonderu and RISE students from Melville SHS to Point Walter. It was a day to immerse ourselves and learn in nature.

24.01.2022 The results of mentoring, music and nature immersion on children's minds and the positive effect it has on behaviour, is speaking for itself. Music lessons WITHOUT expectation of outcomes is inclusive and powerful. BOONDERU HAS NOW BEEN INVITED TO FACILITATE IN 10 SCHOOLS AROUND THE STATE. ... WE HAVE 6 PRETTY DAMN AMAZING FACILITATORS WHO ARE TRAINED IN THE BOONDERU METHOD AND ARE ALL MULTI INSTRUMENTAL, HELPING OVER 400 STUDENTS PER WEEK. It has been a mammoth year for us all. We have started our research project and were also able to buy some of the students their own individual instruments to take home. Watching the excitement and pure joy of the kids receiving the instruments has been priceless. This has enabled students to play and practice at home, which for many of them, was never an option before. Below are some beautiful letters received from our students to show their appreciation. This skill will stay with them for life and hopefully, so will the feeling of pure joy they get when they play music and feel valued and connected.

19.01.2022 These are the gorgeous faces of some of our new students, unpacking their new instruments...2,831km away! Welcome to Boonderu, NGALANGANGPUM SCHOOL in WARMUN. We are really excited to provide instruments and digital lessons to these kids, but we are most excited about meeting everyone in person later in the year. Happy playing.

14.01.2022 Boonderu - Roebourne has a new drummer in the house!

12.01.2022 These two boys have caught the music bug! They are living and breathing guitar everyday. Music is therapy for so many. It gives people a voice and helps with self expression, overcomes language and cultural barriers and genuinely helps develop self esteem.

07.01.2022 BOONDERU UPDATE It has been a busy Semester 1 for Boonderu with the program now running in 7 schools. We have added 2 new schools and some wonderful new facilitators. ... The students at Moorditj Noongar Community College and Melville Senior High will now have access to the Boonderu program, music lessons and performance groups. We have Tyson Mowarin facilitating at Roebourne High school and Ariana and David in Dampier. Ian Campbell and Qynn continue to share their knowledge and experience with our Perth students, along with Gavin Healy. This semester the students will focus on their end of year performance. We always find this to be such a rewarding experience and a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and to increase their self esteem and confidence.

07.01.2022 Music is such a great way to practice the alphabet. And who knew these boys could whisper!

07.01.2022 We are very excited to welcome the newest member of our Boonderu team, Mrs Anna Pianta. Anna is not only an extraordinary teacher with 16 years experience across primary and secondary sectors, she has completed a post graduate certificate in education and also her masters in education. Anna will be our education and curriculum advisor. We are so very pleased and privileged to have her on board.

06.01.2022 Such a beautiful moment to share with so many of our students form all different schools, who were rewarded with their very own instruments to take home and keep forever. Some family members came to support them and to be apart of the presentation and it was so lovely to see the pride they had for their kids. These students have tried so hard throughout the year in Boonderu and we are all incredibly proud of their efforts. Christmas gifts a little early this year, for these very awesome kids.

01.01.2022 The results our students have been achieving this semester have been nothing short of amazing. MUSIC is such a powerful way to engage students, to channel their energy and to help them "heal" even if it's for only a few minutes.
