16.01.2022 As someone who suffers first hand from mental illness and also someone who has watched very close relatives suffer, I empathise with anyone who is affected by such a daunting and incurable disease I say disease because a lot of people think that mental illness is something you choose to have, it most definitely is not You dont choose to have cancer, diabetes, epilepsy or any other illness for that matter and the same goes for anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive diso...rder, schizophrenia, psychosis and many more psychological illnesses Mental illness is affected by a chemical imbalance in the brain which means those who suffer physically cannot think the same way as someone who doesnt It is a very long road to recovery and even once you get there, you can never be fully healed which is an extremely hard matter to accept Unfortunately, someone very close to me is also a long term sufferer of mental health issues and as a matter of helping himself, my Dad chose novel writing as a distraction technique.
