25.01.2022 I hate to repeat what has been said multiple times this year.... 2020 can go away!! To say it has been a hard year off the field is an understatement. On the field, it was a year that the boys remained on top. They knew that they were in the bubble, but played as if there was no bubble , nothing fazed them. When you looked at it like a true supporter, we were only one game off matching our season last year. My highlights of 2020 are;... Well the first match against the Titans, THAT Tackle by Papa has gone down as the tackle of the year, and so it should !!. It honestly showed our never give up attitude that has been created by the whole team. Game 19: against the Warriors , the result was with is, but the end game group scene with the Warriors and the Raiders, showed exactly what this club means Respect . Game 10: That Grand final re match against the Roosters at the SCG. I remember being at Marjura park drive inn, what a night, every time the boys scored, lights flashed, horns beeped and when they won, it was like rewinding the clock 30 years. The excitement as electric. The Qualifying final, 32- 10 against the Sharks .Finally 10,000 supporters at the game, and down 14 to 6 and George Williams interception gets us back on track , from there on in, it was the Dally M winner on show. The semi final at the SCG against the Roosters was the ultimate highlight. The atmosphere at the historic SCG was amazing. From the time big Papa pumped the field after scoring the first try to Jack scoring the winner. The feeling in the crowd was amazing. Never forget it!!!! This is my last post for this crap year. Lol, but I feel that with all the work that the Club , the NRL and we have done, 2021 will be the start of bringing us back in big numbers. So far 11,200 members have resigned up. Looking forward to being all back together. My prediction...... March , kinda back to normal. Approaching my 38 years I really feel that 2021 will be another year where we will cement our strength as a real contender to finally bring that symbol of greatness up the Hume to where it rightfully belongs.., In Canberra. To all our loyal fans , whether you attend one game or never stay away and attend every game ... THANK YOU !!! From all of us for your support. Your effort and support will soon be rewarded. Merry Christmas to you and all our Raiders Family. Drive safe if your going away, we want you back. See you in 2021. Xxxxxxxxxxxx

24.01.2022 This is why I love this club. The opportunities that allow for the young footy players that aspire to live a lifetime dream.

20.01.2022 The Suprise!!! Happy Birthday Miranda and Chloe. Have fun in England. Thanks for all the pictures. Xxx

19.01.2022 Who can recall what memorable moments this team has done in a Rugby League?. Mal Meningas last try in the 94 grand final. John Bateman scoring in the last 10 minutes at Ammi Park. Josh Papalli scores in the 2019 GIO semi to get us through to the GF. And !!! Today another moment was written, big Joshey did it again. There all talking about it, how did Josh reach 31 km an hour and pull off the ankle tap of the decade. ... Another memorable moment made right there...... I liked how all the team played for the 80 minutes. I liked Tommy Starling played well and our mistakes were down to minimum. As Ricky has said in the press conference. Josh will go down as one of our greatest. Welcome to the top 4 , where we belong !!!!

18.01.2022 The joys of the role of being your mascot are the smiles it creates. I first met Miranda (left of pic) when she attended a game at GIO , about 3 years ago. She would give me a picture that she personally made. They were great. I have about 20 pics she gave me. I still have every one of them in a special box that I keep. I was contacted by her family to hopefully get to her birthday party that she held with her sister Chloe. I could not help but celebrate with them. The sad ...but happy thing is that Miranda and her family are moving to England, so this was a farewell as well. Happy Birthday Miranda and Cloe and I hope that you get to see Johnny Bateman in England. That’s for the pictures See more

17.01.2022 You are no 1 at the end of any 80 minutes of Rugby League because you should have played the better game, put more effort in, defended your line the better team , attacked the oppositions line and got through and overall were the better side for the Marjory of the game. If what I described above reminds you of last Thursday nights game at the historic SCG , you are correct!!!!. The replay of last years gf had it all. I happened to be at the Majura Park Drive in, organised by ...the Raiders and our great sponsors Majura Park, myself and 80 other great supporters had the chance to watch the game from the old drive inn. Seeing the cars join the old and the new, brought back so many memories of the Starlight drive in and the old sundown drive inn. Thier was a old chev parked in front of me, that was the old way of doing the drive inn, backwards. Fancy going to a Raiders game , parking your car backwards, setting up the blankets in the backwards and screaming at the Raiders What a night!!!. The amount of horns going off when big Josh Papalii scored was fantastic. The result of the game was an outstanding achievement, and it was attributable to the master coaching efforts of Ricky Stuart. What a master stroke. Well done Ricky. The win on Thursday night was a win for the ages, well done fellas. So proud!!!! It shows that we are still at the never give up stage. Bring on the rabbits this week, for another great game. See you then

16.01.2022 We are getting there. More of you are welcome back. More to scream , more to see live what we are doing. Slowly but surely.

16.01.2022 Merry Xmas everyone.

16.01.2022 My man of the match !!! With stood the pressure and got the meters. Well played mate.

15.01.2022 Everytime we go to a Raiders game, we sit there and cheer a group of blokes that have been put together by a dedicated team behind the scenes. There is one individual that has worked unnoticed to create the team that we have now, and that is a man that has more eye for talent and has more heart then any bloke i know. I talk of the one and only Pete Mulholland. The Recruitment Manager at our Club. He is one off the backbone of the team, and we have Pete to thank for what we s...ee on the paddock and scream at every week. His knowlegde of Rugby League is bigger than any person i have been associated with. Petes health has not been the best of late, but as i said to pete a couple of times, He is a strong individual and can beat anything that comes before him. Fantastic bloke and honured to know him. Thanks Pete Mulholland See more

12.01.2022 You know what!!. Last Saturday night might have been 18 to 6 against us, but I could not be happier. I remember saying all year that we will win a premiership on this defence of ours. The amount of pressure that the roosters put us under , it should have be 50 odd to nil. Overall it was only 2 errors that let them in, in a spate of only 2 minutes. That’s all !!! We are still 5th. I have a tip, we will end up in the top 4.... Jack Wighton was correct today when he said , we just have to step up, just like we have done all year the players know that and will step up. It was good to be back out on the field last Saturday night. Even though it was only at the end of the field. Believe me it hurts that’s there are so many restrictions in force , but these are in place because of the bubble we are under. Just remember this year is different, it is not the person, it is the time we live in. 2021 cannot come sooner. Let’s concentrate on the rest of this year, and 4th place is still in the running to win and lift the trophy in a memorable year to remember. Thank you to all that were there on Sat night. Loud and proud..

10.01.2022 In 38 years I have seen some amazing Rugby League, but no more than that of the Wheelchair Rugby League that I was invited to at the Indoor sports centre at Queanbeyan. Wheelchair Rugby League is an amazing sport. It is fast, skill full and action packed. Queanbeyan indoors Sports Centre had the opportunity to host the NSW and NSW Country sides. I was left in pure amazement of the skill and determination of everyone who plays wheelchair Rugby League. I was asked to give it... a go !!, I could not even turn the chair, so my hat goes off to those all the players, you are nothing short of inspirational . Wheelchair Rugby league is a way that persons with a disability can compete in the game that they love, but is also open to able body persons who want to as well. Why not look at a local competition to join, by looking at : www.NLWHEELCHAIR.COM.AU Be inspired, I certainly am. Thank you Steve Hewson for the invitation. See more

09.01.2022 Congratulations Frank and the Frankston Raiders Rugby League Club. Great cause !!!

09.01.2022 The off season is a great part of the year to be involved with. It is another time to let the "Smiles " continue. It was a busy weekend with me getting out to the community. The first part of the weekend belonged to young Mac, who turned 4 years of age. Mac is a dedicated young member who talks all the time about the raiders and loves the Raiders green, everything is green. Thankyou Mac for letting me join in your very special occasion. I had a great time. Victor xxx

09.01.2022 Thanks McDonald’s , you are not only a great supporter of Rugby league, and our mighty Canberra Raiders, but a great supporter of our community. The work you do for Ronald McDonald house is inspirational. I hope you sold a lot of Big Macs and thank you to all the people in drive through that donated their money . Thank you Donna Partridge Muir it is always a pleasurey

07.01.2022 Congratulations to a great group of blokes. I say that because not of their name, but because I know where they have come from, to where they are now. Well done !

06.01.2022 Happy Birthday to a very passionate Supporter. Jen . She always screams green and it does not matter where you sit in GIO. Her heart is green, her partner is green and if her grass is not green, she lays canturf . You can hear at every game . Happy birthday hope you had a great day

05.01.2022 So many good things come out of England, Johnny Bateman-Josh Hodgson- George Williams- Elliott Whitehead & Mr Bean. What a day in Queanbeyan on Sunday at the Terrible British Car show. Hundreds of British made cars on display, and wow !! don't they look after them. Congratulations to Horst and the Car clubs that put the show together . I felt like a Queen in the Rolls Royce.... Thanks for your support of the Respite Care for Queanbeyan. A total of $1103.00 was raised. THANK YOU !!

05.01.2022 Great to be back in the community. Why not join me at McDonald's Queanbeyan between 12.30 and 1.30. Due to covid restriction , we can only do the drive through.dpnt run me over!!! Don't forget to buy your silly socks to support this great cause. See you then x

04.01.2022 It all started 2 weeks ago, for us to show that we the Raiders really mean business. The game against the red hot Panthers was , I think our turning point!!. I have always said that the game of Rugby league is played in 2 halves , we were not crush hot in the first half in the panthers game, but you do not give Penrith , as hot as they are, any room to move. . The 2nd half of the Penrith game was our statement. We never gave up, we come back well. I will say it now. If Pen...rith were that good they should have gone on with it. We had other ideas in the 2nd half. If you look at the disallowed tries and they were not awarded, it would have been 30 to 28 our favour. I love the never give up attitude that this team has got now. . Come the broncos game, and it was a mirror image of the Penrith game, we looked like we come good in the second half, but realistically we were up to stratch from the start. I go back to my comment two weeks ago, we will win a premiership off this defence. Then we move to last Saturday night against the Broncos. After the week that the Broncos had, with the out of the bubbleweek and the coaching dramas that are ongoing, they really had something to prove. They wanted to show that in the first half and they did, but we worn them down. The amount of profession in the first half, if that was the Raiders team of 4 years ago the raiders would have sunk and the opposition would have wiped us, not this team, we seem to find a new level. A level of determination, courage and team work. Great to watch. Never in my 37 years have I heard a player have Happy Birthday sang to him by the crowd. It was truly a memorable moment. Truely worthy of the statue of the player Jordan is and the commitment he puts into the team. Lastly I wish to say that this Covid is killing me !!. It is hard for me not to be on the ground with you, not to be in front of you edging you on. Not to be allowed to be amongst you in the stand. The restrictions are tough within GIO, and understandably so, it is for the safety of all, but I tell you it is bloody hard. We will come out of this on the other side with the knowledge that at least we got thought this pandemic together. I am still your mascot!!, just from a distance inside GIO. Bring on 2021. When I am allowed back on that grass , I am going to shed a tear, I tell you. The next home game is a big one, bring it on !!,,

03.01.2022 I could not be more prouder!!!,. Going into last Saturday night I was confident that our boys would have continued the form that they showed against the Roosters, and guess what, that did that and more. I was talking to Father John ( the Raiders priest) and I said to him, that this team will win a premiership on that defence. The defence they showed in the last 2 games, was that of the semi final last year in the 2rd half against the bunnies, amazing !!!, What makes me pum...p out my chest, is that with the amount of injuries we are going through, just goes to show you that the amount of depth that we have in this club is a true testament to the poeople who have put a lot of hard yards into its structure. You just have to look at the way the blokes who are called up, are jellying into the team. They are playing off one another, they are playing for one another and they know each other. This can only come down to building the club, Ricky Stuart take a bow. There are no photos with is post, because what happened last Saturday night, should be stuck in your head. With this year 2020 being one that we would like to tear up and throw away, I think this year will be the year that we really shine. To the crowd that was there, congratulations for making it feel like there was 10,000 there. Let’s hope these strange times start to ease off and this second wave that is coming through, does not last long. I am saying that last Saturday night was better than beating the Roosters. Please let us in QLD, because we have a job to continue.
