25.01.2022 A new season, my birds are starting to lay again, my incubators are full, not sure about fertility but hope to have chicks are up for sale by the weekend.

23.01.2022 All sold out, incubators are turned off, I want to. thank you for the support, we will start up the incubators in August in time for Spring. I have been at mundijong markets today and seen some very big prices for pure bred birds, $50-70 for pullet/ hens but $140 for a big buff orpington rooster was amazing, lol not my bird, prices will get back to normal soon

21.01.2022 If you have tried to order chicks from us over the last month, I apologize in advance as fb makes it hard to go back over messages and we did get a lot of messages and orders for large numbers of chicks. We are nearing the end of our hatching season and dont have large numbers hatching, we don't do holds and we have a first come first served due to a number of no shows in the past. 12.01.2022 That moment when you see one of my favourite breeds of chickens missing, they were let out yesterday, was it a hawk? A fox? Was it nicked? No evidence of feathers just disappeared, very annoying... There was 7 and now there is 6, chicken breeding is hard as the attachment is strong :(

10.01.2022 FOWL FACTS: The chicken and the egg Did you know that a healthy laying hen can produce 4-6 eggs a week? Eggs are known to contain a significant amount of p...rotein (hence why we eat them for protein!) But how much protein is in there? To start, we can divide an egg into 3 main components - shell (10%), white (60%) and yolk (30%). The egg white contains 10% protein, and the egg yolk contains 16% protein. If we do some maths, we can calculate that a whole egg (shell, white and yolk combined) contains 10.8% Protein. If we work on the average egg weight as 60g, then 10.8% of 60g is 6.5g, and we can assume that there is an average 6.5g protein in a single egg. Every day when your chicken prepares to lay, she needs to be putting 6.5g of protein from her own diet into her egg. This is why high quality protein content in a hen's diet is vital for health and optimal production. So how much protein should you be looking for in her diet? The average daily intake for a laying hen is 100g of food. So to support her laying needs and bodily functions, she needs a minimum 15% or 15g of that feed to be protein. If protein is too low, you will see a decrease in egg production, as a chicken will prioritise her maintenance, building and function of her own body. OUR RECOMMENDATION: To keep your hen as healthy as possible and maximise production, we recommend feeding a diet that contains between 15% - 17% high quality protein.

06.01.2022 Wow we have reached 1400 likes, thank you all so much for your support, our aim is to get good quality pure bred heritage breeds out to the suburbs. Winter is almost upon us, my hens aren't laying much so we are turning off the incubator until August. We usually focus on day old unsexed chicks that need a heat source, our focus was those with broody hens in the suburbs who cant have a rooster, day old chicks under a broody hen is a great way to reduce stress on the hen, stop... broodiness and get them back laying again. 05.01.2022 Another warning about a guy called Robert on Gumtree selling $50 hylines, first he slags off the guy selling hylines in oakford selling for $20 and secondly he bought the same aged birds, another seagull. A company called Crosilva on old midland road brings in 600 young hylines a month and sells for $20, you may need to go on as waiting list but they are 16 weeks old and healthy, don't fall for the ripoffs
