03.01.2022 I MICROSURGERY! One of the main things that attracted me to Plastic Surgery was the technical challenge and problem solving of microsurgery. As a junior doctor, I was transfixed the first time I saw it. This photograph shows the joining of an artery and a vein under the microscope. The sutures are finer than the hair on your head, and the markings on the ruler are 1mm apart....
