05.01.2022 ME TIME- my time to reset. So as 2020 wraps up, naturally we all reflect on what a strange yet wonderful year it has been. For me, it opened up so many new doors, friendships, love and chapters. And although I LOVE what I do, the super extended lockdown in Melbourne did challenge me physically and mentally professionally. I mean I LOVED still being able to work despite covid snd seeing all my beautiful private and small group clients via zoom on a daily basis- and I am sup...er grateful they supported little old me. But with that came new challenges in relation to me managing my own energy whilst trying to lift the spirits of my crew. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my supporting role through both lockdowns but yes it did require lots of energy. AND As the year comes to a close I have to stop and acknowledge that to be the best I can be, and to come back raring and ready to motivate and challenge my clients again and give them what they need.....well, I am giving me this gift right now. This time out : Life is all bout balance, and I tell all my clients to make time for them, and take time out to move, train, rest and reflect and look after themselves. 02.01.2022 Today I had the absolute pleasure to commence sharing the pilates love with a new Corporate client. Yes via Zoom! This was a small group session, some attendees new to the practice, some a little more familiar. Regardless of level of experience my focus was to get these beautiful people moving, stretching, strengthening and lengthening their bodies in every direction in a controlled, safe and monitored environment. And what a great way to stay in contact with fellow co worker...s!! Modifications and progressions provided so there was something for everyone regardless of age or level of fitness- and it was finished off with some relaxation and breath work in the mat : I’m super excited to meet with this crew again super soon and help them feel AMAZING and feel stronger regardless of the fact that they are still working from home- we can move ANYWHERE we are situated, and no mat, no worries!! 01.01.2022 I am one very thankful lady. Apologies in advance for sounding mooshy , but truth time- I absolutely thrive on spending time with and nurturing my PT clients once, twice, three times a week. For me, my job holds so much more meaning to me that just being my job. It gives me purpose, joy and so much happiness to share my positive energy and passion for movement and pilates when i work one on one with my amazing clients!!! I mean look how beautiful they are to wri...te me these personal messages. Moocho love #love : Most of my clients are super busy people with families and/or big careers- and I make it my personal challenge to keep every individual person motivated, accountable and encourage consistency with their training and wellness regime. And yes, I’m a HUGE believer that movement shifts negative energy and changes our mindsets- and putting 45 minutes aside for YOU to move 2 or 3 times a week despite having all kinds of additional personal and professional commitments is a non negotiable!! 01.01.2022 ACCOUNTABILITY: How have you nurtured your physical and mental wellbeing over the past few months? I’m especially keen to hear from my fellow Melbourne crew. ME, despite being super active motivating my clients, I have to schedule in the time for me, and allocate even 45 minutes just for me 4-5 times a week. If I don’t schedule that in, well then it doesn’t happen It’s absolutely a work in progress from my end, but for me I like to practice what I preach and that... time for ME is primarily about movement and training. I move to shift any negative energy I may be holding onto. I move cause it alwaus changes my attitude. I move as it’s provides my avenue to achieve my physical goals. #yassss : My TOP recommendations to manage accountability: 1. Book time in for YOU to train in a group or privately, whatever works for you 2. Find someone to keep you accountable and make sure you have to show up. I have a fabulous training partner in crime @pilates_prowess and also a PT to train me @adrianmiller_ #thankyou : So I’m all about what works for you, what makes you feel comfortable, what helps you achieve your best physical and mental goals? Soooo, please share with me- How do you manage your mental game? What keeps you accountable? How do you nurture your mind and body through exercise and other means?? I will start - obviously, I lovveeee to move!!! But I also take time out to get a deep tissue massage with my myotherapist when I can @miki_melb_japan. Oh and yes I love to laugh with my friends.
