18.01.2022 My February blocks for the #threadologyquiltalong are complete! I’m in love with this original Little Snippets version, but secretly (or not so secretly now ...) I’m envious of Anna @mywanderingpath’s Chloe’s Closet version, which is going to be amazing!! If you don’t follow Anna, you most definitely should #threadology #fatquartershop #modafabrics #modafabric #bonnieandcamille #littlesnippetsfabric #quiltalong2019 #samplerquilt #quiltsofinstagram #quiltstagram #quiltinglife #quiltingfun #ilovequilting #quiltingismytherapy #quiltinginspiration #australianquilter #quiltmaker #aquapaisleystudio See more

04.01.2022 2018 Family Quilt - ‘Shining Stars’ for Emma This was a French provincial and romantic quilt done by my Mum and myself for my niece late in 2018. I first saw the design as fell in love with it in the beautiful book, ‘Patches of Blue’ by Laundry Basket Quilts. The pattern was not included in that book but a finished quilt was draped across a chair in one of the full page photos and look relaxed, but seemed as if it would go well in any room or on any lounge chair. ... I tracked down the pattern on Laundry Basket Quilts website and began with some linens and cottons in blue (French / provincial) patterns from French Linen Australia. As my Mum progressed this quilt while I started another one, we moved around the blue fabrics and bought more smaller blue prints to soften and break up some of the darker linen blue prints. We finally settled on the placement together with some more fabric additions, and the long arm machine quilting was completed by Will. My Mum made a beautiful bag for my niece to store the quilt. It was gifted at Christmas time. I just love the design and colours. I would make it a bit bigger next time. Hope it suits the rooms you put it in, Emma.

03.01.2022 2018/19 Twenty-first Quilt ‘Confident Purple - a Quilt for Brontie’ This quilt is so clear about what it is saying and showing you - it is Confident Purple. The only things that reveals itself is the deepening of the purple pattern as the quilt stretches down the bed. ... The colours were selected from Olive Branch Quilts in Townsville with the battik being a hit difficult to cut to ensure the pattern deepened along the length of the quilt. The pattern was inspired by a Gingham Quilt that was created by using three colours (white, deep grey and black). But with the purple and battik the effect here is quite different. I have used 9 inch squares and the long arm quilting was kindly completed by Will, in time for Christmas. Fits a queen size bed well. 9 x 9 square pattern. 1/4 inch seams. I did not manage to take many photos of the completed quilt and the changes in the shading of the battik does not show up very well - Unfortunately.
