22.01.2022 These glossy vintage button crosses, handmade in Brisbane, make perfect First Communion (or Christmas or Easter!) presents. Theyre crafted out of earthenware clay, and measure 7cm x 4.5cm. Lovely to pin onto a bedroom wall. When they arrive next week, Ill hold onto a couple for myself and the rest will be for sale in The Cowshed Shop ($14.95 each). 22.01.2022 The bad news is, The Cowshed Shop wont be open this Friday, 6 November, as planned; the good news is, itll be open next Tuesday, 10 November, 9.30am till 12.30pm, and the following Wednesday, 18 November, 10am till 4pm. 21.01.2022 Sorry for not reminding you all earlier, but The Cowshed Shop is indeed open tomorrow, 10am5pm. Im mad about these beautiful letterpress cards Im now selling ($5.95 each). Theyre handmade in Portland, Oregon, by the gorgeous girls at Letterary Press. Printed with soy ink on rich cream cardstock, each one resonates for different reasons and features a different quote and illustration. Theres more than one for every occasionoh, and personality type! Here are a few of my favourites.

19.01.2022 Not a day goes by without me or one of my three children looking at our massive canvas world map, which overlooks the couch in our living room. Its definitely one of my best-ever purchases! A few cowshedders have asked me to order maps for them, so if anyone else is interested, let me know as soon as you can. This beautiful, highly detailed map is 175cm wide and 120cm high, and features two wooden poles, top and bottom, and a sturdy hanging string. RRP $349.95. Cowshed price: $315! Its money well spent!

13.01.2022 At long last This Friday, 2 December, between 3.30pm and 7.30pm (note the atypical hours!) the Cowshed Shop will be open for business. Youll find old favourites, such as the Paperbag Vase, Funky Waldi Ruler and Sharpener Desk Tidy, along with plenty of new additions, including beautiful ceramic pieces, irresistible candles and wooden puzzles. And Kirsten Deakin, my fabulous partner in crime from Art at the Cowshed, will be there for the first hour or so, if youd like find out more about our workshops. Wed love you to pop by and say hello.

13.01.2022 For all sorts of reasons, The Cowshed Shop will be now be open by appointment only. Having said that, Ill still have occasional open days and take part in special events (such as the Southern Highlands Writers Festival in July 2016), so keep an eye out for those. Handmade in Brisbane, each piece goes through nine (yes, nine) processes till its finished in a gloss glaze. 11.01.2022 Not only is my friend Anita Sheehan a talented film producer and gorgeous person, shes a big supporter of The Cowshed Shop! Im so looking forward to this sure-to-sell-out-in-a-flash fundraiser. Hope to see you there. Read on A special screening of Jasper Jones will be held on Sunday, 12 March, at 5pm, at Bowrals Empire Cinema. Jasper Jones author and screenwriter Craig Silvey will join Anita Sheehan (executive producer) for a pre-screen chat about the book and film. The Bowral Bookshop will be selling copies of the book, and Craig will be there to sign copies. All tickets are $25, with proceeds going to the BDCU Childrens Foundation. Tickets on sale now at the Empire Cinema (also available online).

In the meantime, I just want to let you know that Kirsten Deakin and I have set dates for the Art at the Cowshed classes for the coming months. Our first one-day workshop is this Sunday, 12 February. We have just one spot left if youd like to come along. Its $200 for the day, which includes all art supplies and food. The class runs from 9.30am to 4pm. Here are th...e dates for autumn (all fall, excuse the pun, on a Sunday): 19 March; 30 April; and 21 May. One more thing The eight-week term class, starting tomorrow, sold out in a flash; if youre keen to enrol in next terms class, just message us and well add you to our list, which already has several names on it! 04.01.2022 My Cowshed Shop stall is all set up for tomorrows Sydney Writers Festival in the Highlands event at Thspa. Very excited! Ive taken all sorts of lovely things, including some of Kirsten Deakins hypnotising cow paintings, and heavenly Jane Austen candles from Paddywaxs Library collection.
