18.01.2022 As was announced earlier this year the Carmelites have closed their Monastery here in Wichita and have moved to Brooklyn, New York. Bishop Kemme offered a Farewell Mass on November 24. Here is a screenshot from the article in the Catholic Advance, and a couple of photos from the Mass. The movers had loaded up the Monastery belongings the day before. As you can see the altar was a folding table. The second picture is that of some people who attended. Thanks for your prayers... and support for these nuns. Here is the contact information and website link for their Monastery in Brooklyn. They are located in the Highland Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. Monastery of Our Lady of Mt. 17.01.2022 Dear Friends of the Carmelite Nuns, Praised be Jesus Christ! Attached is the May 1 letter sent to many of our friends. We share their heavy hearts that they will be moving to the Carmel in Brooklyn, New York within the next year. This Carmelite Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph has been in contact with our sisters for about 10 years and has offered their assistance numerous times....Continue reading

14.01.2022 DISCALCED CARMELITE MONASTERY P.O. BOX 278 VALLEY CENTER, KANSAS 67147 We thank and ask God’s abundant blessings and protection upon all those who have and who will collaborate in this task with their prayer, work, ... service, and generosity!- Your Carmelite Nuns Eleventh Annual Benefit Golf Tournament for the Construction of the Carmelite Monastery We are pleased to announce the Eleventh Annual Golf Tournament benefitting our Discalced Carmelite Nuns to be held on September 24, 2018 at the Willowbend Golf Club in Wichita, with a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start. We would love for you to support these holy Nuns by playing in the tournament and/or becoming a sponsor. The enclosed registration form contains all of the necessary information to sign up. In addition to playing on one of the best golf courses in the region, all golfers will receive a lunch, on-course beverages, and an awards dinner. If you are unable to play, please refer to the entry form for ways to support our Carmelite Nuns. The golf tournament is the largest fundraiser this year for our Nuns, where they receive 100% of the donations. Through the generosity of benefactors, only the golf course fees are deducted from the entry fee. The Carmelite Monastery is a 501(c)(3), a nonprofit organization. Our Carmelite Nuns are cloistered contemplatives who arrived in our diocese 16 years ago to offer their prayers and sacrifices for the salvation of souls. The Nuns live and pray in a manufactured home where Holy Mass is also celebrated; it is not large enough to make room for more Nuns who will glorify our Heavenly Father. To meet requirements from Rome, the Carmelites must double their living space. After donations of labor and material, the estimated cost for this expansion is $37,000. Our Carmelites bake granola and maple almonds to help support themselves; yet they are dependent upon the generosity of benefactors for their material support. Because so much of their time is dedicated to prayer, donations are gratefully accepted from all who wish to become benefactors of the monastery. If you have any questions about this year's tournament, please feel free to contact Jeff Dahlgren at [email protected] (or 316-630-8100). If you have any questions about our Carmelite Nuns, the monastery, or their mission, please contact Jerry Cornejo, one of the Friends of the Carmelite Nuns, at 316-305-3051. Thank you for your past support, and thank you in advance for your support of this year's tournament. We look forward to seeing you on the course! Sincerely yours in Christ, The Friends of the Carmelite Nuns Jesus Alone See more

12.01.2022 Dear Friends of the Carmelite Nuns, Praised be Jesus Christ! Many have wondered if there will be a golf tournament to benefit our beloved Carmelite Nuns this year. It was decided with the Nuns' upcoming move to New York that we would not have enough support from participants. Bob and Karen Peck, who have supported this tournament for many years, and have felt incredibly blessed by the prayers of our Carmelite nuns, have decided to start a new annual golf tournament in memo...ry of their two sons, RJ and Sam, that will provide financial support for Missions and Spiritual Growth opportunities, including our Carmelite Nuns. Bob asked if the Friends of the Carmelite Nuns who have previously provided "THE BEST of any tournament" food for our Carmelite Golf Tournaments would consider providing food for the post tournament luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 21, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. The patroness of this charity tournament is St. Therese of Lisieux, our great Carmelite doctor of the church. Below is the information and SignUp Genius links from Bob Peck. Thank you for all your past support for our Carmelite Nuns. They will appreciate our ongoing prayers and financial support. God has blessed us and will continue to do so! Your Servant of Mary, Flos Carmeli, Mary RJ & Sam Peck Memorial Charity Golf Tournament In conjunction with Promise Bound Charities Promise Bound Charities provides financial support for missions and spiritual growth opportunities to individuals called to Christian Discipleship.
