24.01.2022 Our referral system just got another upgrade. Radiographs can now be sent securely through our website into our secured folder. This would resolve some of the issues with sending large emails. Please try it out and give us some feedbacks. https://www.theendodonticcentre.com.au/referral

24.01.2022 Another normal working day at The Endodontic Centre. Endodontic emergencies aren’t the only emergency we get at work. It is essential for the team to get annual first aid training and CPR update to ensure we are equipped to deal with the drama we face. What’s the best way to deal with drama? A mock drama at work! Thanks to our awesome trainer that always make the scenario fun and real!

24.01.2022 Day in day out we educate patients the treatment options, cost, risks and benefits. This cannot happen without a full understanding of the latest literature and technology. AOS conference is a good starting point to revisit the implant world. A very well organise conference and good speakers.

24.01.2022 We are most excited to welcome Dr. Vui Tan to join The Endodontic Centre. It is our great pleasure to have such an enthusiastic, caring and skillful endodontist joining our team.

21.01.2022 Despite the best management of an avulsed tooth, replacement resorption (ankylosis) can take place if the extra-oral dry time is long. As a result, the tooth become infra-occluded over time and lead to poor development of the alveolar ridge. Malgram 1989, 2000 proposed the method of decoronation, which has shown to be a valid method to promote further alveolar growth. The key is to ensure the root is buried below the crestal bone and a primary closure is achieved. ... This young girl had the avulsion about 6 years ago and was well managed by a colleague of mine at RDHM. The last review was 3 years ago by the endodontist and now the girl is ready for the orthodontic treatment. The crown was removed and preserved carefully. The root was cut below the alveolar bone with a large round bur and the edge was shaved off with a flame fissure bur. The canal was filled with blood. Flap was elongated from both the labial and palatal site to achieve primary closure. I was trying my best to keep it as an envelop flap but in the end I had to make a relief incision in the distal aspect of 21 to achieve primary closure. The crown was then attached with composite interproximally. The patient will soon be having orthodontic treatment and the crown of tooth 21 can receive a bracket and attached onto the wire if need be. The root is going to be slowly resorbed over time and she will be ready to have an implant in 4-6 years from now.

19.01.2022 This is very interesting! A 3D photo of the chamber! This will be the future of patient education!

09.01.2022 Other than Yoshi Terauchi, it is not common to completely remove a fracture instrument from a root canal without significantly damaging the canal wall. Most of the time, bypassing would lead to perforation and platforming would lead to excessive dentine removal and future vertical root fracture. Fracture instrument is rarely a consequence of a single error. It is the combination of inadequate access, lubrication in the canal, manoeuvre of the endo handpiece (or motor), the ...choice of rotary files, patient's mouth opening and lastly, the brand of the instrument. "Prevention is always better than cure". It stands true in instrument removal also. This is a case was lucky. I manage to gently removed the dentine around the instrument and bypass the instrument incrementally. The end result was rewarding but took two solid 75 minutes appointment. Although the patient slept through most of it, I am sure he was exhausted.

04.01.2022 The level 1 restriction has finally arrived! This means that dentistry is pretty much back to normal except for patients with active COVID. The Endodontic Centre has also been resuming our operation to match the government’s recommendations since last week! Social distancing and extra precautions have been put in place to ensure the safety of our patients and the beloved team. This has certainly create a lot more work and reduced our efficiency but it is totally needed to ensure everyone’s safety. It has been a difficult 6 weeks for all of us and we hope that we are getting close to the end of the tunnel. We really appreciate your understanding and patience during this period. Let’s hope we continue to move forward!

01.01.2022 The Endodontic Centre Xmas function 2018 was a great success! A weekend get away with the team and the family at a lovely holiday house by the beach! More interestingly, this beach house is owned by an ex-prosthetist. Really appreciate the dedication from every team member and the partners. TRC wouldn’t be the same without you all. The Endodontic Centre will be close from 22/12/18 and reopen on 06/01/19. Everyone from TEC would like to wish you all a very safe festive season!
