20.01.2022 Find beautiful Latin American products at The Fair Trade Nest in Crows Nest. All of The Toucan Shop Hammocks products are handmade and sourced directly from small groups of artisans and their traditional cultures in Latin America. The Toucan Shop was founded in 2004 by Anne and Marvin whilst they were living in Costa Rica. They built a network of suppliers throughout Central America. They made many amicable relationships with the artisans with whom they communicate and collaborate with regularly. They always pay the price asked by the artisans without haggling. 12.01.2022 Open today in Crows Nest! A new shop, The Fair Trade Nest! Featuring AfriBeads and their beautiful products from Uganda. For over a decade AfriBeads has been working with a group of artisans in Uganda, creating a market for their beautiful traditional craft and as a result, employment and hope in this very poor country. Baskets are woven from natural fibres using age old traditional artisanal weaving methods. The jewellery is made from beads of rolled recycled paper discarded from printing shops in the centre of Kampala. The beads are lacquered and created into unique and durable designs. Each piece carries a story of the artisan who made it.

11.01.2022 Stitch'd believe that beautiful should also be ethical, which means their approach to fashion is vastly different to the ‘fast fashion’ industry. In Indonesia they know their artisans personally, pay them well and train them free of charge in technical skills to improve their employability. This empowers them to afford a healthy, independent lifestyle, and a better future. 06.01.2022 Sunday’s Fearured Trader at The Fair Trade Nest is Modimade. Modimade is an independent enterprise, that supports Cambodian communities as they empower themselves through trade. Anna’s business supports social enterprise where religion plays no role, all people are equal and their goal focuses on sustainable opportunities. They are creating fair and ethical employment, by providing an avenue for you to purchase their products. Modimade is about connecting you with Cambodian ...artisans. Why does Anna do this? She does this because she admires the way each enterprise values and enriches the lives of their employees, providing them with the fair employment and opportunities needed to stay out of sweat shops, off the streets, and away from the threats of trafficking. You can shop from Modimade’s products today at our pop up store - or any day for that fact. But today Modimade is our Featured Trader. Modimade has a beautiful range of children’s toys out especially for today.
