15.01.2022 Pathetic politicians looking after their friends and not you For those who have bought their family home via an apartment purchase or perhaps sought to invest in an apartment for the sake of rental return, many have been duped by unscrupulous builders who for the sake of profit, covered these buildings in cheap cladding which is now a fire hazard similar to the order of the Grenfell disaster in Britain where many died as a result of poor construction practices. There are curr...ently well over 1400 such buildings caught in such a dilemma and now the owners of these apartments are facing further trouble as our Victorian State Government seeks to impose a repair levy via a loan to be administered by the owners local council further causing heartache to the trusting apartment owners. Meanwhile the very builders that caused this mess and those that gave occupancy permits to the owners appear set to not be held to account thanks to Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews. 03.01.2022 Following the Canberra nonsense, it is clear that neither side of the political divide has the nation’s interest in mind. Children in a playground behave better. This has been clear for over 30 years, and so is not a recent item as the media and current opposition Labor party would have you believe. How can anyone living in this country, or seeking to invest in this country, have any faith in the direction of this nation? With policy on the run, it’s clear there is no vision ...and with this lack of vision comes the selling of Australian assets and governance to either large corporations, political factions or to other nations. Our leaders do not care and the results are mounting fast. Privatisation of the nations assets from its banks, to energy providers, to its gas reserves just to name a few have occurred at breakneck speed. Our children’s future is now truly compromised. It’s time the people of this country woke up and realised that even the news they absorb from television, radio or newspapers cannot be trusted, as this is largely owned by the Fairfax group. Both sides of the political divide have lost the right to govern with any true mandate. The Australian people are excluded from critical decision making, and instead fed a diet of bad food and reality television while disaster looms around them. People seeking to empower themselves are finding it harder to rise beyond being ‘just above broke’. This in itself makes for a disempowered population who are just smart enough to operate the machines and complete the paperwork, yet dumb enough to not be able to change anything. We need major political decisions regarding our nation’s assets, security, social policy, housing, healthcare and foreign ownership of anything including our public companies, decided ultimately by referendum and not via the nod of self-interested fools in Canberra.
