Stalwart artist of Newtowns folk and indie-pop landscape Maxine Kauter is bringing her latest release Magic Machine to Nourish Cafe and Grocer in Valla Beach on 14 September for an intimate show. This is Kauter's fourth album and it sees her bring a refined, increasingly intimate take on her sound. Produced by Nick Franklin (guitarist for Australia, engineer for Clews, The Polish Club). Maxine is known for her intensely literate, witty lyrics and Cat Power-esque voice. Born and raised in Sydney, Kauter is known for her honest and unique writing and performances. A songwriter who is intensely popular in Sydney's indie songwriter scene, she has won numerous awards for her work, including the Sydney Fringe Festival award and the Peats Ridge music award. Her music has received radio play across the country on Triple J, ABC and other community stations. Internationally her songs have appeared in films and television. @ Valla Beach
