Helen & Sandra are leading a team making aprons from old denim jeans for our Working Member's to sport while volunteering ... And Fish and Amie are refreshing our counter blackboards with a new layer of paint and artful design and messaging to come!

18.01.2022 If your kids are veggie-sceptics (or if you just want a bit of colour in your food!) try this recipe from Ilaria! https://cbrfoodcoop.org.au//2020/09/30/pink-pasta-for-eve/

17.01.2022 Our final feature for Australian Organic Awareness Month is our wonderful range of organic teas! Many of our teas are organically grown in Australia. We're pleased to offer all of our teas in both our cafe and our shop - so every tea that you taste when you drop in for a cuppa, can be yours at home too!

15.01.2022 THANK YOU TRISH, WELCOME SHAYMA It's time to say an enormous thank you to Trish for your dedication and commitment in the role of Products & Ordering Manager during what has been a challenging year! Trish stepped into the role of Fresh Produce Coordinator early in the year, and then took on the additional Managerial role at the start of the COVID-19 period. Trish worked to bring about efficiencies and coordination between these related parts of the Co-op, resulting in the for...mal combining of the Fresh Produce Coordination role into the Managerial role. Go Trish! Trish promises that she’s hanging around as a volunteer Working Member, to see through a number of exciting developments in the products space that were challenging to fit in to her previous workload! So it’s not a complete goodbye and you'll be sure to continue to see Trish's friendly face around! And Welcome! to Shayma, who’s been hired to replace Trish! Shayma has been a Co-op member since March when she moved to Canberra from Sydney. Shayma became a Cafe Coordinator at that time and has volunteered in that role once a fortnight since then. Shayma is studying anthropology at the ANU with a focus on food justice so was a stand-out choice for taking on the Products & Ordering Manager role. The Co-op was recommended to Shayma by classmates - "There's a real sense of community here & I've found it a good spot to land in Canberra". We’re looking forward to working with you Shayma in this new role!

14.01.2022 URGENT WORKING MEMBER ROLE - LOTS OF SLOTS AVAILABLE Join our Jar Sanitising team! We get lots of jar donations! This job is cleaning (with our dishwasher) and culling excess jars. It's 1 hour per fortnight, 10:30-11:30am on any day of the week.... Email us at [email protected] if you can join the team!

13.01.2022 We now have the CheckIn CBR App at the Co-op! You can scan our QR code when you come in for lunch instead of handwriting on the sign-in sheet. Easy! Download the Check In CBR app on the App Store or Google Play. SAFETY IN THE CO-OP Let's work together to keep Canberra safe! Please remember to keep hygiene standards high when you shop: - Please don't come to the Co-op if you are unwell in any way... - Please enter through the Cafe Door and proceed directly to the handwashing station. Always wash your hands thoroughly upon entry, and as you shop. - Please use a clean scoop for each product. We have convenient Clean and Used Scoops buckets to make this easy. - Please drop off jars for donation to the Co-op on the shelf to the RIGHT of the kitchen door. These will be machine-sanitised by our Sanitising team so they are safe to use again! - You can pick up free, sanitised jars to use while shopping from the shelf on the LEFT of the kitchen door. We can only have 50 people total in the Co-op at any one time to adhere to safe physical distancing guidelines. Due to this, it is our preference that only ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD shops at the Co-op. This means that it's best if you can leave your kids at home. We understand that this isn't possible for everyone, so please follow these guidelines for shopping with kids at the Co-op: - If you can, please keep your kids secure in a carrier or pram. If that's not possible; - Please wash your kids' hands thoroughly upon entry (as well as your own) - Please do not allow your kids to touch the food containers, scoops, benches, or the food itself. If you feel you won't be able to keep your kids from touching things, we'd love to fulfill an online order for you at cbrfoodcoop.org.au/i/co-op-grocery-pickup-delivery-service/ #CBRFoodCoop #ShopLocal #SupportSmallBusinesses #Reopen #hygiene #covid19

12.01.2022 We've got beautiful wasabi greens from Rita's Farm in Wallacia - they are a variety of Brassica and not related to the wasabi used in sushi. Something different for your stir fry or to give a bit of zing (slightly peppery and spicy) to a salad.

06.01.2022 The Co-op's faithful army of computers that we've had in the office for many years are gradually grinding to a halt. While we don't need the fastest, slickest model on the market, we do need things that work! If you have an older computer that you're looking to pass on, we would love to hear from you. We would gratefully accept donations of computers, or we can negotiate a small price - times are tough, but not being sure the computer will turn on when you ask it to is tougher Email Sophie at [email protected] if you've got anything to offer!

05.01.2022 Come along this Sunday to our preserving bee from 2-5pm! It's the last one of the year, and a great opportunity to hang out with Trish! RSVP to [email protected]
