25.01.2022 NOEL FAIRWEATHER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED The 2019 Noel Fairweather Memorial Freemasons Scholarship has been awarded to Clayton Parker from West Range in the South East. Clayton, who is 18, is enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics) at Flinders University. Clayton said: "I dream of a career in the field of engineering, more specifically a career where I can help people through the design and manufacturing of new technologies and being awarded this scholarship will help me to realise my dream. Thank you Freemasons for your great work in encouraging and supporting young people". For those of you who don't know where West Range is it overlooks Lacepede Bay near Kingston. Congratulations Clayton and good luck with your engineering degree.
19.01.2022 FREEMASONS ASSIST CANCER CARE CENTRE Now in its 32nd year of operation, the Cancer Care Centre based at 76 Edmund Ave, Unley is a very special place for both cancer patients and their families seeking advice and assistance through their cancer journey. They provide their wonderful service without government funding and have to rely on donations, their own fund raising and volunteers. The Foundation was only too pleased to support the initiative of Glenelg Lodge in funding a Logitech group video conferencing system worth around $1,5000 to help the Centre keep in touch with those wishing to access their services but unable to physically visit. Well done CCC and Glenelg Lodge.
14.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN STRING QUARTET - SAYS THANKS After a special performance over just two nights the ASQ wrote to our Facilities Manager Nick Herraman: On behalf of the Australian String Quartet , I would like to thank you and the Grand Lodge for allowing us to perform in the Freemasons Hall on North Terrace as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2019.... We thoroughly enjoyed performing the music of Philip Glass, Schubert and Mendelessohn in this beautiful and magical setting along with the dining experience provided by PostDining to make this a memorable event for Adelaide Fringe Audiences. It provided a unique glimpse into the Freemasons Hall building and we were privileged to use the magnificent foyer for this event. I am copying in the Grand Secretary to pass our thanks to the Grand Master and can certainly recommend the Foyer area as a wonderful space for Chamber Music and hope that Freemasons Hall can host music again there in the future. Thanks again Nick and best wishes for 2019. Sophie Emery Operations Manager
