15.01.2022 Over the next few week each of the boys will explain why we are doing the 12 week challenge. So I guess Ill go first.my name Steve Patterson age 48 and this year I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes some insulin but it is not produced in the amount your body needs and it does not work effectively. Type 2 diabetes results from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Although there is a strong genetic predisposition, the risk ...is greatly increased when associated with lifestyle factors such as high blood pressure, being overweight or obese, insufficient physical activity, poor diet and the classic apple shape body where extra weight is carried around the waist. Type 2 diabetes can often initially be managed with healthy eating and regular physical activity. However, over time most people with type 2 diabetes will also need tablets and many will also need insulin. It is important to note that this is just the natural progression of the condition, and taking tablets or insulin as soon as they are required can result in fewer complications in the long-term. So I need to get fit and what better a way then to bring awareness to mens health at the same time. A great big thanks to Anytime fitness Grovedale and my trainer Bec who without this could and would not happen.

10.01.2022 12 Week PT Training GIVEAWAY!!! Nominate yourself, your father, brother, friend now!! The Great Australian Work-out FULL TRAINING INCLUDED A couple of mon...ths ago John Didge from 94.7 The Pulse radio and me (Paul) came up with an idea during a conversation about mens health. The idea was to host a 12 week challenge for a group of men from the Pulse radio station. The challenge would be timed to finish on Blokes Day which is held on the waterfront Geelong. The participants would each be raising money for a particular charity of their choice during the 12 weeks. Anytime Fitness Grovedale with the support of all the trainers was able to offer this training to the participants at no cost. We decided to turn it into a bit of a challenge between the trainers at the same time. We have since begun to refer to this 12 week challenge as The Great Australian Work-out! This idea is really getting some momentum and the Blokes Day reveal looks like its going to be a huge event. We decided it would be great to get a mystery participant from our local community. As a result we are giving away: a fully funded 12 week challenge including free gym membership Dedicated PT Trainer with One on One PT for the entire 12 weeks Diet and lifestyle coaching Before and after Weights, Measures and Photos Group training with the other participants Opportunity for on-going membership This is your chance to nominate your father, brother, uncle, friend or such to join the other 4 guys on the 12 week challenge. They will be given free membership and intensive one on one training by one of super skilled trainers. Winner Drawn on air at the Pulse Radio Station Geelong this Saturday. To go into the draw you can email the club [email protected] and nominate someone in 50 words or less as to why they should be included in the challenge. Make sure you include the full name and contact numbers. Of course you can nominate yourself. This offer is only open to men as it aims to raise awareness for mens health. Alternatively you can phone The Pulse radio station between 8.15am and 9.30am this Saturday the 21st of December and tell them on air why you or your nominee should be chosen. Ph. 5222 5947 The Geelong Fishing show will be aired during this time. The personal trainers volunteering their time and effort from Anytime Fitness Grovedale are; Rebecca Chapman, Caily Nash, Thomas Boyle, Jac Smith and Anna Vines.
