21.01.2022 Time to get the troops into your garden the same time you are planting your Autumn & Winter food..bug repellents & delicious backyard herbs are very important: Leek, onion, dill, rosemary, basil, mint, thyme, garlic, borage, oregano, is a great place to start. We will have these in stock in the next 4-6 weeks, place an order with us for 100% certified organic herbs & veg:) Your Soil is just as important as what you plant...we can help you here too:) Be sure to build a healthy mix of both, so balance can be restored...trust me these insects are good/bad & clever!

19.01.2022 My second update on vegetable seedlings and pest control: A good and safe homemade bug spray can be made by making up a strong tea with rosemary(fresh leaves or dried), chives and/or spring onions leaves, nasturtium leaves, some normal tea leaves. Boil them up, strain, and cool. You can even add a bit of organic detergent. Spray directly at the stem and lead bases. Best to do late afternoon when direct sun is not on them. Dont over spray the leaves. If you do lightly wash of with water. Repeat once or twice. Itll work ok.

17.01.2022 Amazing parallel was realised tonight after getting a brief update on ABC...did you know that 98% of all of Australia's trade is IMPORTED!!!! What??? Yes UNBELIEVABLE!! Thanks to our GOVT free trade agreements (which destroyed our farmers business's overnight) and relations with third world countries - yes! Here we are one of the most privileged countries in the world, brought to our knees... LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL - let's buy Australian made food, furniture, clothing, goods, serv...ices and vote with our wallets...up-cycle, re-cycle, re-use, re-purpose, make it yourself, buy from chariiy stores (when they re-open) bring out the Chef from within!!! Sit back with a turmeric cuppa and be inspired by one of the most incredible documentary FILMS I've ever seen - POWER OF COMMUNITY...the collapse of a system due to sanctions on CUBA, dominated by imported everything, a crippled economy and system brought to it's knees...and after their world stopping in its tracks, no fuel, no transport, no access to fresh food, fast food everywhere - their farmers were the poorest paid in their country. UNTIL their cries for help were heard a group of amazing Australian permaculturists/city farmers, who jumped on planes and helped revive their economy...help them grow food again on every patch of dirt in their city...Treat yourself to some good news, seek out this film online and enjoy! 16.01.2022 Welcome to 2020. Believe it or not our Collective is still operating. It was in a holding pattern much of last year. Although the market in the hall no longer operates we have had Movies that Matter evenings, with music, and a Q&A panel. Organic food and drinks were available. 10.01.2022 Bugs love vegetable seedlings too. Companion planting with edible herbs is the best way to naturally control insect pests in a vegetable garden. Suitable species to plant include mint, thyme, rosemary, oregano, sage, and lemon balm. Nasturtiums and marigolds can also be planted. I will have companion plants available as soon as possible.
