24.01.2022 Thank you to all the riders and non- riders and locals and not-so-locals who made their way out to The Hub over the weekend for some pizza and beer. It was great to be making pizzas again. Also thank you to our staff who picked up where they left off nearly three months ago so well.

Hours: Day and evening shifts (sometimes finishing after ten o'clock) over a seven day roster period. Shifts can be as short as around three hours, or a full seven or eight hour shift. We are looking for someone who loves pizza and is willing to pursue excellence in wood-fired pizza making - from dough making, to topping and cooking - and customer service in general. Whether you are after a few days per week, or looking for an opportunity to build a career, this could be what you are after. You will need to be able to work as part of a team in a very busy environment, think laterally and manage various priorities, follow direction well and have the ability to work efficiently alone. You will need to follow procedures to ensure excellence in product quality and customer service. Key aspects of the position: learning to cook pizzas to The Hub's high standards; making dough; preparing a wide range of ingredients and menu items; dish washing; cleaning. 14.01.2022 The Hub pizza and beer is located in Derby, north-east Tasmania, home of The Blue Derby Mountain Bike trails. This position is full-time, however, part time will be considered for the right applicant. We are looking for a person experienced in a supervisory position in the hospitality sector, specifically shift management in a restaurant environment. The position will be fully operational, requiring the successful applicant to work in all areas of the restaurant carrying out ...all duties any other staff member is expected to do. On top of this various management tasks will be carried out. To be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following: Operational restaurant supervisory experience; shift management experience; an understanding of COS and COL; have your own transport and licence. Duties will include cooking pizzas and preparing food, front of house customer service, cleaning, chopping/splitting wood, cleaning, as well as management tasks such as running shifts, maintaining and controlling costs, receiving and ordering stock and overseeing other staff. You will also need to pick up stock and transport recyclables to the local transfer station from time to time. Future duties you will be trained in include writing rosters, conducting stock takes, planning, payment of invoices, and payroll. Our expectations are that you will be able to work closely with management supporting current systems and procedures, bring initiative, as well as new ideas and marketing strategies. You will also show excellent leadership and be able to build good relationships with other staff as well as provide excellent customer service. The benefits of working at The Hub in this role are being part of an enthusiastic, small, hard working team. You will potentially enjoy a long term position with the possibility to advance.
