22.01.2022 Is your computer running Windows 7 ? Windows 7 support from Microsoft will end on January 14, 2020. If you choose to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your... PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft. Microsoft strongly recommends "that you move to a new PC running Windows 10 before January 2020 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available". @ The Ink Shop / Computer Repairs Bribie we have everything you need and the best service and support options available, including upgrading your current PC to Windows 10; Customising a brand new Windows 10 PC to suit your individual needs; Or we can help you to keep your Windows 7 PC operating throughout 2020. 19.01.2022 All support for Windows 7 and Internet Explorer has ended. But just because you can continue to use Windows 7 in its End of Life status, it doesnt mean you ...should. The biggest risk with continuing to use Windows 7 is that it wont be patched for any new viruses or security problems once it enters End of Life, and this leaves you extremely vulnerable to any emerging threats. Call us now for free personalised advice. See more

01.01.2022 SCAM ALERT Scammers have set up a clone of the myGov website to trick you into sharing your login and bank account details, Stay Smart Online says. The scam... starts with a phishing email that looks like it is from Medicare, asking you to update your Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) details, so you can start receiving payments for Medicare benefits and claims. If you click on the link in the email you are taken a replica of the real myGov website. Youll note the URL includes .net instead of .gov.au, which is an indication the website is not a legitimate Australian Government domain! If you input your login details you are directed to also enter your secret security question and answer, before youre taken to the fake Medicare website to input your bank account details. These emails and web pages feature myGov and Medicare design and branding, making them appear legitimate. Remember, clicking on the link and sharing your details gives these scammers access to your personal information, which they then use to steal your money and identity!
