08.01.2022 Having occipital discomfort? Looking for relief? This is an interesting read on how this impacts the vagal function. In Ortho-Bionomy we gently palpate the transverse or spinal processes with the middle finger, because it is usually the most sensitive, and exaggerate what is happening. Hold for 10 - 60 seconds and wait for the release. Do this once or twice. Give the body the information to work with and let the self corrective reflexes create change. The eye movement is helpful for self-care. If you move the head from side to side and stay in the direction of comfort then look in the opposite direction i.e. only move your eyes not your head. Hold for a few seconds and gently come back to neutral and re-check the movement.
