01.01.2022 SOMETIMES THE OLD WAYS ARE THE BEST In the age of technology there are many products, both chemical and machine, claiming to do the job better and easier. But do you always get a better result? In my experience no, especially when it comes to flues, fireboxs, chimneys and gutters. Just as the heat from an electrical source does not quite compare to a wood fire heating the bones and the cockles of your heart. So too is true of chemicals and machines cleaning flues and gutters ...compared to getting in there scrubbing scraping & picking it out with good bit of elbow grease. You get right in there, making sure nothing is left behind. There is no problem that the machine is not big enough small enough or strong enough to get it all when the elbow is doing the work with sturdy hand tools. And Relying on chemicals to magically do things for you, hoping without seeing that it has done its job definitely has its downsides. The other plus when doing it manually, getting right in there, you can visually inspect everything for wear and tear as you go, increasing safety for yourself, your property and all the memories it contains.
