23.01.2022 Jazz winter season 2020 Hi all just an update on our 9 week winter Comp due to start this week. TEAMS... The committee are presently finalising our registrations and teams are being drafted, with limited positions remaining we would like to ask any of our Jazz members who plan to return for the season to please register by tonight. If you are a member that has decided to sit out this season your position will be saved for the following season. Regarding placements we would like to make all our families aware that while we do our best to accommodate all players with their preferences due to restrictions and numbers this season teams are likely to look different please bear with us as we formulate teams to the best of our ability, please also note looking forward to next season again a reshuffle will be necessary as many of our Jazz members who have wished to pause their membership are likely to return. Also please be aware that this season as mentioned in a previous post we will be requiring each team to have a parent or family member step up as team manager for their team to ensure smooth running on game day. Along with teams being published here we will be getting notifications out to families regarding placements coaches and managers this week. TRAINING For this first week all jazz teams will train on Friday afternoon we will have junior Saturday players between 4-5pm and senior Friday players from 5-6pm further updates for training will be available following this once we gauge our needs based on this seasons restrictions for training and team numbers, again please bear with us as we navigate through this.

05.01.2022 Jazz update A big hello to all our jazz families we hope you have all been keeping safe and well during these difficult times, with things still uncertain and knowing that our members and families main priority at this stage is settling back into their new normal we wanted to just reach out and let you know that your jazz club is still here and ready to get back into the swing of things once restrictions ease and a return to indoor sporting activities resume. We have be...en in communication with LBI and at this stage clubs are looking at easing back into basketball competitions with a short 9 week season set to run for the duration of term 3 with dates to be confirmed. We are hoping to have more information in the near future regarding what the 9 week competition will look like in term 3, obviously with various restrictions likely to still be in place there may be certain rules and regulations for this upcoming season that will need to be adhered to and we will pass all this information onto you via Facebook once we know more. Once the term 3 season Registrations open we would like to invite all current jazz members who would be interested in participating in this short season to sign on via the Logan basketball website, If you have not previously held a membership with Jazz Basketball we would ask that you please first register your interest via email by contacting us at [email protected] So we can advise on availability in your desired age group. Registrations will be opening shortly and we would encourage all interested members to sign on ASAP so that we are able to determine numbers early on and tailor our teams to any necessary regulations. There is a pay later option or the option to enter a payment arrangement with LBI prior to the season start that you can take advantage of should you choose. We recognise that our Jazz members and families circumstances are all different at the moment and not all of you will either wish to or be able to join us in this short season, we completely understand and will be happy to welcome you back for future seasons when you are ready to get involved in basketball competitions once again, please let us know if you fit into this category so we can make a note on our system. If you have already Registered for the season prior to covid 19 please contact Logan Basketball to discuss your membership going into this short season as they handle all payments and registrations. Sincerely Jazz Team

03.01.2022 ATTENTION TRAINING Training this week will be as it was last week with all players training on Friday. Junior Saturday players 4-5pm... Youth Friday night players 5-6pm From next week changes will take place with a number of our Saturday teams moving to a Wednesday afternoon training slot if this affects you, you will receive notification.

03.01.2022 JAZZ NOTIFICATION !!! IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING COMPETITIONS FROM LBI. COVID 19 UPDATE... * Players can now bring their own balls for warm-up. We will only be supplying the game balls going forward. * Please be respectful of the number of people that attend games. We should not be aiming to have everyone possible attend, keep this to around 2 members per player. * Everyone is still required to sign in, but players and spectators may leave via the from doors now. * Players waiting downstairs must stay off the court and give a clear pathway for teams to exit. * All players and coaches are required to leave straight after the game has concluded. UNIFORMS * No Rep shorts are to be worn. A player will not be able to take the court if they are wearing them. No exemptions, this is on your club to pass this message on. Players without correct shorts should be wearing plain black shorts. * Undershirts must only be your clubs primary colour. TIMEOUTS * No timeouts or clock stoppage will be allowed in the last 2 mins if a team is up by 20 points on both Friday and Saturday SCORE BENCH * We will wait and let the clock run until we have at min 2 scorebench officials to start the game. This is the teams and clubs job to ensure these positions are being filled every game. We have too many games this season with 1 or no parents on the bench. Just to follow on from LBI’s directive on score bench we really need all our player parents to step up and support the players by sharing the responsibility for score bench too often it is the same families time and again and sometimes no one at all who is coming forward to do this, please understand this leaves your children at a disadvantage in their game, we understand it may feel a bit daunting but it is really easy once you get the hang of it and there is plenty of support from our court officials in this role and it’s a lot of fun getting to sit front and centre to watch your child play! Thanks everyone and have a great week of competitions!!

03.01.2022 Game Reminders!!! Just a few things to remember for games this week and going forward while we operate within the COVID safe plan Logan Basketball have put in place at Cornubia park Sports centre. Saturday players please arrive to the park opposite Cornubia Park Sports Centre prior to your game time slot and assemble under your clubs allocated marquee where a member of Logan Basketball will come and escort your team, coach and manager over to the stadium once it is ready. No outside balls will be allowed into the stadium on game day. 1 parent/caregiver per player will be permitted to attend games siblings/other children will be able to accompany that parent/caregiver. All non players will need to register/sign in and out at the door - players will not need to register or sign in. The upstairs gallery seating will be capped at 15 people per court if this capacity is reached Logan Basketball will allow for some standing room downstairs on the baseline. Exits from the courts will be located through the fire doors - Court 1 & 2 will exit through the referee fire door while courts 3 & 4 will exit through the thunder bar fire door.
