SMOKEY BBQ PORK & PINEAPPLE SOSATIES with your next Braai??? - WHAT YOU WILL NEED -... 4 thick-cut pork neck steaks or pork fillet 2 lrg red onions 1 lrg pineapple 2 green peppers olive oil tomato sauce fresh lemon runny honey fresh rosemary Cape Herb & Spice SMOKY BBQ BRAAI - METHOD - Slice the pork into large cubes, drizzle over two tbsp of olive oil, dust liberally with the Cape Herb & Spice Smoky BBQ Braai Seasoning, toss through to cover and set aside to marinade for at least half an hour. Thread the pork, pineapple and vegetables onto skewers and place on the BBQ. Halfway through the cooking, start to paint it with marinade. To make the marinade: simply mix together 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp honey, 2 tsp chopped rosemary, and 1 tbsp Cape Herb & Spice Smoky BBQ Braai Seasoning. Cook’s tips: If you are using metal skewers, brush them with oil before you thread on the meat. This will help to prevent it from sticking to the skewers once cooked. If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water for half an hour first so they don’t burn on the braai. In days gone by, the fashion was to cook pork well done. Times have moved on and these days the slightest touch of pink on pork is the way to go. With its higher fat content, pork neck steaks can handle a bit of overcooking, but this is especially important if you are working with a drier cut like pork fillet. This is a long message but it will be worth your while to have a read.... Due to the new health announcements made by the PM, we will be implementing the following changes as of today on top of the previous ones we had in place: - Our self-serve option in our Wynnum store will no longer be available, but our lovely staff member will be able to assist you. - We ask and encourage all our customers to please only pay by card where possible. - We are still offering Coffee and Tea, but this will only be available as a takeaway and in our recyclable cups. - We will unfortunately be implementing a limit to the number of customers in our shops at one given time. Based on the governments recommendation this will be a limit of 10 people including our staff members. Lastly but most importantly we will be offering HOME DELIVERY starting on MONDAY 30 MARCH 2020. This service will be offered to customers who live within 20km radius of our two locations (Wynnum and Kallangur). A flat rate of $10 will be charge per delivery and no minimum amount to be purchased. Deliveries will be made within business hours twice daily at 1pm and 5pm where possible or next day delivery, alternatively you can email, phone or Facebook message us your orders and we can have it pre-packed, ready for you to just run in, pay and pick up. 03.01.2022 We just thought we would share a guide for friends, family, small businesses and other individuals on how to register your Intention to Claim through Centrelink. When you need someone or something to help you navigate being without an income during a pandemic, a bot is not the first thing that comes to mind. But for many of those now struggling to make ends meet in self-isolation, that has been their only option.... After scenes of long queues around Centrelink offices, some improvements have been made to the way COVID-19 relief payments can be claimed. The MyGov website has been updated to include a Register Intention to Claim button on the landing page when you log-in to your account. By following the prompt, you are putting yourself on a queue to be called by Centrelink at an unspecified time. A Centrelink staff member today advised that you may be called anytime between 8am and 8pm. So you will have to keep your phone nearby and off silent-mode. Its an improvement on the blaring orchestra of the hold line. When you are called, make sure you have three forms of ID prepared to verify your identity. You will need one primary form of ID. For most people this will be a passport, and two secondary forms such as a drivers license and a bank card. Most of the Australians desperately trying to sign-up for Centrelink benefits, are those who have never received payments before. Centrelink encourages customers to avoid going in person to their offices to seek assistance, due to social distancing procedures. This means that you must complete your application through a combination of phone and online services. To start, you need to create a MyGov account, then link your account to the Centrelink service. This is where it gets a little tricky. If you havent received payments before, you will need to call Centrelink to get a Customer Reference Number. This is essential before you even start your online application. Currently, the recommended phone number for Job Seeker payments is 132 850 but call it and the first thing youre asked is What is your CRN? This phone exchange can last up to five minutes, but usually ends in being re-directed to the 24-hour Self Service number 136 240. There, you will find yourself listening to hold music or abruptly hanging up in frustration. Thats when the call-back service becomes the better option.
