18.01.2022 After quite a busy time over the (extended) school holidays it's all quietened down now. Phew! We've had a chance to bolt on a fly screen door to the retreat, collect all the materials to re-do the verandah roof and found a bunny living under the deck! We have availability for the Adventure Fest weekend on 4-5 November. If you're heading down south for that weekend perhaps think about looking at accommodation sooner rather than later, it's a busy weekend!

17.01.2022 If you've been too busy rushing around getting every to school, exams, band practice, footy training, tutoring and maybe making sure everyone eats that you haven't had a chance to even think about school holidays then you're probably in the same boat as everyone else :-) One step at a time, right? Our wood pile is pretty decent and we've just got a new axe! (it's the little things), there's nothing cosier that a log fire in the pot belly stove. There's a long table and the games cupboard is full of jigsaws and scrabble and Uno and all your old favourites. And we don't have any bookings yet for the school holiday break! Come down south to Karridale and winter *properly* :-)

15.01.2022 So your flight somewhere might not seem like such a good idea anymore - nor the 2 weeks of isolation after returning home. Or you could just *tell* people that you are self isolating and be on the safe side. Down in the wildy wilds of Karridale (25 mins south of Margaret River) in a self contained renovated church. You should be safe from the virus and vampires here.

15.01.2022 Not only are we able to open our doors but so are our neighbors are the gorgeous Karridale Gallery next door and the Karridale Tavern. Happy WA Day long weekend through WA to you all!

14.01.2022 For the folkies amongst you you've probably already got a big circle around this date. Nannup is just up the road from Karridale (in WA terms that's under an hour straight along the Brockman Highway), keep your eyes open for emus grazing by the side of the road and chooks taking "free range" to heart.

14.01.2022 Summer. We can almost smell it from here!! Karridale is just perfect in summer, not too hot, close rho the beach and bush and, our personal favourite, the Circus Festival is in town!! You can go and learn circus things during the day or just head there at night for the performances. It's always a popular week :-D See their page for all the details.

12.01.2022 We are quite excited that the gallery next door to the Karrikesh has opened up again! And now selling art by the resident artist, Heather G Lowe Art . Along with Heather's beautiful paintings of seascapes and the wheatbelt she has interspersed smaller pieces of metal, ceramic, wood and glass from local artists in the area. So pop next door for a sticky-beak and nosey around when you're down there. When you come out of the Karrikesh turn right for the gallery and left to the Karridale Tavern. ;-)

09.01.2022 If you go down to the Bay today you're in for a big surprise... So it may not be a teddy bear but these cuties are often at the waters edge in Hamelin Bay waving g'day. Like labradors of the sea. Hamelin Bay is just a short <10 minute drive from the Karrikesh. ... Don't forget to take your camera / fancy phone Footage by margaret_river_ezposed_tours. And apparently the stingray is called Gordon. Rightio.

09.01.2022 As soon as I get to Karridale I wonder why i don't come here more often - particular when you're leaving Perth in a post-cyclonic drizzle. I can't believe i was thinking of bringing my wellies! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156189544462474&id=678527473

08.01.2022 The Circus Festival is moving! Same place (down in our neck of the woods in Karridale) but it's not's going to clash with the Australia Day long weekend anymore! Great news :-) (And tickets to the training sessions might make a great Christmas pressie :-D )

03.01.2022 It's always busy at this time of year down south. It's the perfect weather to make the most of the pot belly stove with a glass of red wine in your hand and a full belly, having a Big Chill weekend with your friends or family. We're booked up until the end of this week and then we're all yours! Big thanks to our guests for their lovely words. (and we'll be posting out those socks you left behind :-)

01.01.2022 Have you booked your school holiday getaway yet? We've got availability "down south" :-)
