21.01.2022 Does wearing make up effect my lashes? Yes.. if it is oil based (most are) Did you know this doesn’t just go for skin care oils, foundations and powders but also eyeshadows/eyeliners too? Most make up contains oil. What does oil do to my lashes? Over time it builds up on the hair shaft creating a barrier, even once cleansed that oil is still sitting within the hair. This can cause your new extensions not to bond properly to the natural lash resulting in poor retention. ... Daily oils transfer from our skin onto our lashes also - this is why it’s important to use a lash cleanser them a few times a week so that build up of oil doesn’t occur. To play it safe we recommend to keep all oily products away from your eye area and if you are going to wear eyeshadow making sure it’s oil free and cleansing with a lash cleanser when your removing your make up
