25.01.2022 Our very clever Preschoolers have been busy learning about the change of seasons - the most recent being the transition between Autumn and Winter, saying farewell to all the leaves on the trees and welcoming cold and frosty mornings The children had noticed the abundance of leaves on the ground in their playground after the recent long weekend and without being prompted, they started collecting them When asked what they would like to do with their collection of leaves they gave a seemingly obvious answer... paint them of course! Now we can all stand back and enjoy the beautiful display that was created by our Preschoolers with the help of their fantastic educators

25.01.2022 Our centre wants to ensure your families safety at every possible moment. During drop offs, we ask that you apply hand sanitiser at the door, ring the doorbell and wait for one of the educators to collect your child and their items. During pick up, we will now be using the outdoor side gate to avoid crowding around the foyer. Our educators will apply hand sanitiser before giving the child and their belongings back to you. During this uncertain time our educators are working hard to provide a safe environment for your family, if you have any concerns or questions about the new procedure, please contact us over phone or speak to us during drop off or pick up times.

23.01.2022 In our Toddlers Room, we have been using natural materials to enhance our childrens learning. Providing an interesting and ever-changing environment for children to explore is important for children to develop their curiosity, provide opportunities for children to ask questions, and to talk about things that they have discovered Adding natural resources to our learning environments encourages children to observe closely and use all their senses. Natural materials stimulate... childrens creativity and imagination as they can be used in play in many different ways, their open-ended possibilities often encourage children to engage in richer play experiences Natural materials also have a sensory benefit, they have different textures, sizes, colours, and smells. They provide more tactile stimulation to children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination You could add natural materials to your home play space by going for a nature walk around the backyard, neighbourhood, or park. Look carefully at the ground, flowers, trees and paths and start a collection of natural things, such as rocks, stones, leaves, bark, feathers, seed pods, shells, sticks and straw Happy exploring! 23.01.2022 Family grouping... why do we do it? Every morning and afternoon at our front campus, we family group in our Toddlers Room. Essentially, this means that children from 0-3 years come together to share the same play space. We do this for a variety of reasons. ... Mixed-age grouping has great potential to support childrens social and emotional learning. Children who are settled and older often take on leadership roles and support those who are less capable and competent than they are, while at the same time building their own self-confidence and self-esteem. They model turn taking and sharing. Children with no younger siblings at home have opportunities to be a big sister or brother and nurture and help others as well as form relationships with younger children. Play is often more complex as older children extend younger childrens ideas or younger children follow the ideas suggested and contribute to the play. Miss Mia, 3 years old, absolutely loves having the opportunity to play with Baby Levi, 9 months old, every day. Mia gives Levi kisses and cuddles, Levi then mirrors this with a baby doll. These two have developed a strong bond and friendship where Mia comforts, nurtures, guides and cares for Levi and it is something so beautiful to watch.

23.01.2022 Build it up, build it up, build it higher Constructive play requires children to move every part of their body as they build The crawling, stretching, lifting, bending and walking they do helps develop so many different muscles and works their gross motor skills while also fine tuning their fine motor skills with grabbing, placing, balancing and connecting different pieces ... All of this development even before diving into the equally important cognitive and social aspects of construction play... wow! As you can see in these photos - team work makes the dream work

23.01.2022 Supporting Children to navigate our current climate. Many parents are looking for advice about how to best support their children to cope with the Coronavirus pandemic. With the situation rapidly changing, frequent news of people becoming unwell, and many children unable to continue with their normal activities, it is a very unsettling time for families. Its important not to avoid talking about Coronavirus with your children - avoiding the topic may make them feel more worr...ied and unsure about whats going on. Many children will already have thoughts and ideas about Coronavirus, so start by asking them what they know. Use open-ended questions and address any worries, fear or false information they may have heard. Its okay to tell kids that we dont have all the answers but when we know more we will share it with them. Uncertain and stressful times can put a lot of strain on family relationships. In order to best support children, it is important that parents look after themselves too during this very stressful and difficult time. Try to find time for adequate rest and self-care. If you are feeling particularly stressed, overwhelmed or unsafe, or that you are not able to support your children in the way that you would like, please reach out to family and friends or your GP. 17.01.2022 Lets get messy! Our Toddlers absolutely loved exploring their senses with this activity set up by Miss Maha using bubble wrap and different coloured paints Messy play with paint, sand, slime, water, clay or mud fosters creativity and imagination, encourages language and communication skills, practices concentration, and promotes physical development. Messy play has no end goal. The point of it is to let children explore the materials in front of them in whichever way they... wish. There were lots of laughs and squeals of excitement heard while the children were slipping and sliding hand in hand, trying to keep their balance while mixing the colours of paints! What a simple but fun way to explore a number of learning outcomes
