24.01.2022 During the height of the pandemic, Foodbank SA have been one of the amazing local organisations who have stepped up to help South Australians doing it incredibl...y tough. Their support has literally saved lives, kept food on the table and the work of charities and other support services going. Today I had the chance to catch up with CEO Greg Pattinson and talk about the incredible work they have been doing these past months, and will continue into the future. Ensuring that food relief gets continued priority in the COVID-19 response will be a focus of mine in the weeks ahead. Thank you, Foodbank, for the great work you do, and special thanks to your army of volunteers for your tireless contribution to bettering our community.

22.01.2022 Robe Lions Club members Dave Thomas and Alison Nunan (also the towns Mayor), today joined the staff and pupils of Robe Primary School along with a handful of co...mmunity members in a beach side revegetation project. In what can only be described as a cold and bitter day, the group got together and planted over 2,000 shrubs and beach grasses along the dunes of both Hoopers and Fox Beaches in Robe. Over several seasons, the tide and weather have taken its toll on these beaches and it is hoped that the revegetation will in time assist in restoring the dunes nd slowdown the erosion that has been occurring. Mayor Alison said that whilst it has taken some time for the project to get to this stage it was great to see the community coming together and thanked Lions for their participation. Of note for fellow Robe Lions is that I did not cut or otherwise injure myself during the project!! See more

19.01.2022 Our club received this email today Great work lions ! Hi Bryan... Just an update for you. Our member who was revived using both CPR and the defibrillator is recovering well in hospital. He had a defibrillator implanted today and may have to have a couple of stents inserted but he is happy and chatting and yesterday John and I both received text messages from him in hospital which was such a lovely surprise. He is out of ICU and in a ward now. One of the doctors told him that if we hadnt had the defibrillator on site he most likely wouldnt be here now. So thanks so much to the Lions Club for their great help. Kind regards Pam
