24.01.2022 OPENING TONIGHT The night we've all been waiting for is finally here! The judges have made their decision, and a winner has been chosen. Join us tonight from 6pm for the opening of the 2019 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award. This exhibition features the work of over 50 entrants and is packed with some beautiful work from very talented emerging artists. Speeches commence from 6:45pm and will be followed by the announcement of award recipients.... All welcome, drinks and nibbles provided.

23.01.2022 Past Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award Commended Prize Winner || Where are they now?! Addition 2017 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award Commended Prize Winner Kristone Capistrano... Kristone has been awarded multiple prizes nationally, including winning the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, the Royal South Australian Portrait Biennale, the Commended prize for the Lloyd Rees Youth Award, the Peoples Choice for the Muswellbrook Art Prize, and both Local Artist and Peoples Choice awards for the Blacktown Art Prize. Most recently, he was selected as a finalist for the Dobell Drawing Prize and the Fisher Ghost Art Award. Kristone has been exhibited across Australia including solo shows at Crowther Contemporary (Melbourne) and Wedge Gallery (Sydney). He has also participated in group shows at the JCCAC (Hong Kong), The Art Space Gallery (Singapore) and Mono8 Gallery (Manila). 21.01.2022 An outstanding crowd of art lovers descended on Gallery Lane Cove to support all the emerging artists who entered this years show and to be present for the announcement of the Commended, Highly Commended and winner of the 2017 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Awards. Sharing the Gallery that night was the joint winner of the 2015 Lloyd Rees Art Awards Max Berry who presented a breathtaking collection of paintings in his solo show titled Vehicle. The exhibition is a selection of recent works, a kind of documentary of a rudimentary narrative, the works encourage a moment pause and introspection. 08.01.2022 Lloyd Rees was an Australian landscape painter, and is regarded as one of Australias most noteable artists. He was also a long term Lane Cove resident, living in Northwood for over 40 years. Rees has been honoured by the Lane Cove community in many ways: The Lloyd Rees Bandstand Rotunda in the Lane Cove Plaza built 1983, Lloyd Rees Drive (entrance to Blackman Park), and of course through the The Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Awards established in 1981. Kain received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2016 for which she was awarded the Bird Holcomb MFA Scholarship to complete her Masters in 2018. Since being awarded the Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award and Hornsby Art Prize (Printmaking) in 2017, Kain has been a finalist in numerous art awards including Blacktown Art Prize (2017), Gippsland Print Award (2017), Swan Hill Drawing and Print Prize (2018) and Artspace Mackay Libris Award (2018). As part of her Prize from the 2017 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Awards Kirtika will have a solo show exhibiting alongside the 2019 Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Awards Opening 6 December - 18 January.
