18.01.2022 A BIG YEAR AHEAD FOR EVENTS IN DUBBO In 2020, 18 events will share $69,667 allocated under Dubbo Regional Councils funding channels aimed at supporting locally... organised not-for-profit events, or attracting and retaining major event activity driving economic benefits for the Dubbo Region. More than a third of the funding will benefit local, community event organisers to help build a range of culturally diverse events across the Dubbo Region. This funding provided under Stream 2 of the Event Development Fund, will also help new events during the all-important and critical incubator phase, said Manager Regional Events Kim Hague. Sporting events were the majority of benefactors of funding under Stream 2 of the Major Event Sponsor; however, we are also supporting a range of events in the agricultural and cultural sectors that provide economic and social outcomes for our region and community, Ms Hague said. Combined, these events will generate more than $10.5 million for the Dubbo Region and continue to amplify Dubbos standing as the Epicentre for Events in regional New South Wales, said Mayor of the Dubbo Region, Ben Shields. Funding under Stream 2 follows a successful Stream 1 round, where approximately $42,500 was allocated to events.
