21.01.2022 Thankful to our latest sponsor, Bishop Instruments & Bows - donating a $1,000 cash prize to one of the finalists of the 2018 Melbourne Violin Competition. Bishop instruments & Bows ltd is a London based string instrument shop established in 2004. The director , Sean Bishop , originally grew up in Australia , studying viola at the Victorian College of the Arts before completing studies in Queensland and in London at the Royal Academy of Music. After performing for many years w...ith Orchestras including the Philharmonia and the English Chamber Orchestra his love of string instruments took over and the viola was retired in 2001. He has sold instruments to all the major orchestras worldwide including 10 instruments to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra including a fine Guadagnini to the concertmaster, Andrew Haveron. Sean has regular overseas trips showing clients our selected stock and he will be in Melbourne and Sydney this December.
