The man was more than 5km from home and was not wearing a mask.

He then stated he was eating and wasn’t carrying a mask because it was too heavy. A woman was found at a fast food outlet in Horsham with no valid reason for being outside her restricted area after multiple calls to the police assistance line who nominated the woman for visiting the area every two weeks.

06.01.2022 Examples from the last 24 hours of COVID breaches: Police intercepted a vehicle in Wyndham with five occupants from different addresses who were all more than 5km from their home address. Police issued fines to all vehicle occupants. A male in the Greater Dandenong area riding a bicycle with no helmet and no mask outside of curfew was spoken to by police. Stated he had fallen asleep at a friend’s house.

01.01.2022 STOLEN A giant excavator worth more than $130,000 has been stolen near Bacchus Marsh. Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of the excavator, from a Balliang address. The excavator was stolen in the two week period between December 23 and January 4. It was stolen from an address in Primes Court, a small farming road that runs off Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Road.... The Hitachi excavator, model ZX200LC3, was stolen from the rear yard of the address. Investigators believe the thieves would have required a truck to transport the excavator away from the scene. An image of the excavator has been released in the hope someone recognises it or can provide information on its current whereabouts.
