22.01.2022 Re-post from 2014 when we were still at stage 1-2 of design and implementation of a master permaculture plan at The Moorings (photos are from 2014 before proper establishment of perennial plants): Map of the orchard, vege beds, composting bays, native pond etc. Working on getting the food bowl drought ready with another phase of El Nino on the way. Solar pump installed at front dam (large road/valley catchment ) constantly pumping 200m up a 15m head to top catchment pond. Electric pump to be installed at pond to drive water to the food bowl.

18.01.2022 A little mini garden project knocked up at The Moorings on the weekend. The chimes of the old dinghy match the white weather boards of the house. Succulents cut straight out of the existing ‘coral reef’ entrance garden.

15.01.2022 Our latest WWOOF-er (willing workers on organic farms) starting the day with her morning practice on the lakefront yoga platform. Our farm dog ‘Lily’ wants to get in on the morning action too.

06.01.2022 We are looking for volunteers right now for late winter / spring! Free lakeside accomodation and food for 4.5 hrs work per day on a permaculture farm, have you heard of Wwoofing before? This is a cost free alternative for people who want to connect with the source of their food, learn new skills, commune with nature and are willing to work 4.5 hrs a day for free accommodation and food. Only 3.5 hrs drive north of Sydney on the banks of Wallis Lake, Pacific Palms NSW and 15 mi...ns drive from Blueys Beach. What’s WWOOFing? Willing workers on organic farms. You’ll be fruit and vegetable gardening, mowing, mulching, weeding etc. We have first class accommodation in a fully self contained cabin and renovated barn. Food is provided for WOOFERs to prepare themselves. Minimum stay 3 nights. Camping is available on the lake’s edge. Canoes and bicycles are available along with several art studio and mediation spaces. The Moorings is a 9 acre property with a 250m lake frontage.
