25.01.2022 Keep the community safe

25.01.2022 To show our support for #16DaysinWA, we've partnered with our friends at CBH Group in Albany and Hexion Australia in Bunbury to light silos and tanks in orange as a reminder to the community that respect starts with each one of us

25.01.2022 Jack Mallick (Acting State Director-Operations) with two of the nominees put forward by the Albany Community Delma Baesjou & Rod Pfeiffer...and the sun was out.

24.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? If you put the plastic bottle lids in the recycling they wont get recycled? What to do then? Wash out a plastic milk bottle, put all the caps in the milk bottle & when its full take it to the King River Halls pink bin. Theyll then be recycled to make prosthetics for children HOW COOL IS THAT???

24.01.2022 No its not Sporty Spice, its another good sport, leader of the WA Nats, Mia Davies MLA at the Albany Farmers Market ensuring you get #YourVoiceYourChoice in WA POLITICAL HISTORY, the Albany Community Pre Selection

23.01.2022 PINGELLY this morning to catch up with the Shire of Pingelly and the #SomersetAlliance, a group focused on improving aged care services in their community. S...o lets talk aged care - are you worried your parents or grandparents, or you, will have to leave your home town to get the care you may need? Do you have services available that meet your needs of your community? What would make it easier to stay in your home or close to home? Have you got an aged care package but no-one to deliver the service you need? Do you have a local service provider? Every town I visit raises their concern about aged care. They want the people that have contributed so much to their town to stay in their town, close to family and friends. There are solutions - and I believe the Somerset Alliance and Pingelly community have an important piece of the puzzle ... but they need funding and itll take co-operation from both the State and Federal Government. Im working with them and any other community champions to address this important issue - if youd like to add your experience or voice to making the case for improving our aged care services in regional WA I invite you to share your story or reach out to my office. #regionalalWAys #TheNationalsWA #ageinginplace #agedcare #giveageismtheboot #livinglifewell #seniors The Nationals WA Julie Burton (CEO, Shire of Pingelly), Cr Jackie McBurney, Mrs Lesley Page, Hon Helen Morton, Hon Mia Davies MLA

Dumbleyung-based Flexi Trans owner Darran Bairstow says his and his familys companies have had virtually no response to driving jobs advertised weeks ago. 19.01.2022 The Albany community has voted to select our candidate for The Nationals WA and it is with great excitement we welcome Delma Baesjou to the campaign trail. As a local business owner and town planner, Delma strives to represent the diversity, history, lifestyle and environment of her region. She has big plans for the region, is a strong believer in Royalties for Regions and is already straight into the campaign. The community preselection process was a great success, featuring... community engagement throughout and maintaining strong media coverage for The Nationals for months. By the end of a wet and windy Saturday over 500 community members had their say and voted. It demonstrates The Nats commitment to community involvement, and was an important step to launching a successful Albany campaign for the 2021 election.

18.01.2022 Regional towns miss out on City Centric infrastructure Cash Splash I visited yesterday Onslow Police Station below which was built in 1979. An allocated $...13 million to upgrade nine police stations in WA by the State Government is a bonus but you only need to travel to towns such as Cue, Exmouth, Onslow, Tom Price and Paraburdoo to see that these stations are housed in inappropriate facilities or certainly overdue for a revamp and not fit for purpose. Numerous police stations across the regions, along with schools and health services in Tom Price and Paraburdoo continue to deteriorate with long-awaited upgrades left on the back burner and again not making the priority list. I encourage the Government to look closely at previously funded projects and those on the list, while engaging with communities crying out for facilities at least comparable to those in the Metro areas. 13.01.2022 COASTAL EROSION today The Nationals WA announced a new policy to address coastal erosion in regional WA. A report published by the State Government identifies... 12 regional locations that need investment within the next five years - failure to do so will result in significant damage to the environment, public and private infrastructure. Who pays for this work has always been a source of contention - the problem get handballed between local, state and federal government and private landowners. We need a co-ordinated effort from all stakeholders, and a commitment of dollars to start urgent works. 02.01.2022 We can all be F.A.S.T. Heroes! This National Stroke Week (Aug 31-Sept 6) Stroke Foundation is urging Australians from all walks of life to become the next gener...ation of F.A.S.T. Heroes. A F.A.S.T. hero is anyone who can help save a life simply by knowing how to recognise the F.A.S.T. (Face. Arms. Speech and Time) signs of stroke. When a stroke happens, brain cells start dying at a frightening rate of up to 1.9 million per minute, but medical treatments can stop this damage. The message is simple Time is brain. The faster you can be treated after stroke, the more chance you have of making a full recovery. https://bit.ly/3fc8dMb #strokeweek2020

01.01.2022 PILBARA visit this week with The Nationals WA candidate Scott Bourne - Nationals WA, Pilbara. We met with industry leaders, community groups and business owne...rs in #Karratha and the message from all was clear and consistent - we need more housing, especially affordable housing! The shortfall is driving prices up, meaning many businesses, not-for-profits and others cannot attract and retain the staff they need. This issue hasn’t emerged overnight - the McGowan Government has taken their eye off the ball and the community is now facing a crisis that could have been avoided with some planning and timely investment. #pilbara #housingshortage #youdeservebetter #thenationalswa #regionalalWAys REACH US - Pilbara Inc. 01.01.2022 NatsWA Leader Mia Davies MLA. Yes shes watching the clock as she delivered the below speech in her allotted 90 seconds regarding The Nationals historic, WA first, the Albany Community Pre Selection - "MS M.J. DAVIES (Central Wheatbelt Leader of the Nationals WA) [12.53 pm]: I rise to report that the Nationals WA recently completed a community preselection to select Albanys next member of Parliamenta process that has never been used before in WA. A decision over 18 mo...nths in the making, we launched on 26 June and delivered a sharp eight-week campaign to empower the people of Albany to choose their Nationals WA candidate for the 2021 state election. During that time, volunteers and community members helped raise awareness about the community preselection and encouraged people to get involved. In late July, three local champions stepped forward as nominees to seek the support of the Albany community. Delma Baesjou, Rod Pfeiffer and Darren Bennet did an outstanding job engaging the community, participating in forums, hosting MPs and meeting with businesses and other organisations. The process demonstrated the grassroots credentials of the Nationals WA and the partys willingness to think outside the square to make sure regional communities get the representation they deserve. On 29 August, Delma Baesjou won the vote after more than 500 people turned out to cast their ballot. I extend my sincere thanks to Hon Colin Holt, MLC, South West Region member and driving force, who contributed his time, energy and much more; also Jack Mallick; Louise Kingston; Albany branch president, Peter Robins, and party members; my parliamentary colleagues; the nominees and their families; and last but not least, the Albany community, businesses and organisations for participating. Delma is already working hard for the community and I am pleased we have another strong woman joining our team to fight for regional WA" See more
